BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST!

KEY VERSE

“And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.”1 John 3:23

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

To believe in the Name of Jesus Christ is far more than mental agreement or religious affiliation.

In Scripture, a name represents authority, nature, identity, power, and covenant.

Believing in His Name means total trust in who He is, what He has done, and what He continues to do.

The Name Jesus means The Lord saves (Matthew 1:21).

To believe in His Name is to renounce self-righteousness, reject alternative saviors, and rest completely in Christ’s finished work on the cross.

It is the gateway to salvation, victory, transformation, and eternal life.

Faith in His Name produces obedience, holiness, love, boldness, and endurance.

Any Christianity without faith in the authority and exclusivity of Jesus’ Name is powerless religion.

Heaven is opened, sins are forgiven, demons flee, prayers are answered, and eternity is secured only through His Name (Acts 4:12).

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF BELIEVING IN HIS NAME

  1. To receive salvation (John 1:12)

  2. To obtain forgiveness of sins (Acts 10:43)

  3. To walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4)

  4. To have authority over darkness (Luke 10:19)

  5. To access the Father boldly (John 14:13–14)

  6. To live by faith and not works (Galatians 2:16)

  7. To bear spiritual fruit (John 15:5)

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Blood-Signed Cheque

A man may possess a cheque worth millions, but until he believes the signature is valid and presents it, it remains useless.

Lesson:

The Name of Jesus is Heaven’s signed authority.

Many admire it, but only those who trust and act on it receive its power (Philippians 2:9–11).

2. The Lifeboat

A drowning man may see the lifeboat, but unless he enters it, he will perish.

Lesson:

Jesus is not an option among many, He is the only rescue.

Belief must move from observation to surrender (John 14:6).

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Have you admired Jesus without trusting Him?

Have you used His Name without obeying His Lordship?

Have you relied on works, titles, church attendance, or morality instead of faith in His Name?

Now is the time to repent.

DEEP REPENTANCE (HEART EXAMINATION)

Lord, I confess that I have sometimes believed in myself more than in You.

I have trusted systems, men, intellect, and effort above the sufficiency of Your Name.

I turn away from self-rule, unbelief, and divided loyalty.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Father,

I come in the Name of Jesus Christ.

I repent of unbelief, pride, and self-dependence.

I renounce every false confidence and receive Jesus alone as my Lord and Savior.

Cleanse me by His blood, renew my heart, and establish me in true faith.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

HYMN

All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name
Edward Perronet (1779)

Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!

now ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!

3. Let every tongue and every tribe
responsive to his call,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!

4. Oh, that with all the sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We'll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
We'll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
