LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

KEY VERSE

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you…” — John 13:34 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Love one another” is not a suggestion; it is a commandment from Christ Himself.

Biblical love (agapē) is not rooted in feelings, convenience, or personal gain, it is sacrificial, intentional, and Christ-centered.

Jesus did not say, Love those who love you,” but “Love one another as I have loved you.”

This standard of love includes forgiveness when hurt, patience when provoked, humility when offended, and service when unappreciated.

Love is the proof of discipleship, the language of the Kingdom, and the evidence of spiritual maturity.

Where love is absent, Christianity becomes mere religion.

In a world marked by hatred, division, pride, tribalism, hypocrisy, and self-centeredness, God is raising believers who will live out truth through lovenot compromising righteousness, but expressing it through compassion.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF “LOVE ONE ANOTHER”

  1. To reflect the nature of God (1 John 4:8)

  2. To fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 5:14)

  3. To reveal true discipleship (John 13:35)

  4. To preserve unity in the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:2–3)

  5. To silence strife and offense (Proverbs 10:12)

  6. To walk in obedience to Christ (John 15:12)

1. The Wounded Neighbor

A man was attacked and left wounded on the road.

Many passed by, but only one stopped to help, at great personal cost (Luke 10:33–35).

Lesson:

Love is revealed not by words, but by action and sacrifice.

2. The Cross Without Revenge

Jesus was mocked, beaten, and crucified, yet He prayed,

“Father, forgive them…” (Luke 23:34).

Lesson:

True love forgives even when revenge seems justified.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

The Holy Spirit calls us to repent of:

DEEP REPENTANCE (HEART RESPONSE)

Lord, I acknowledge that I have often loved with conditions, limits, and excuses.

I have withheld love where You commanded it.

Cleanse my heart and realign my life with Your love.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Father,

I repent of every form of hatred, offense, bitterness, and lovelessness in my heart.

Wash me by the blood of Jesus.

Renew my heart, restore my compassion, and teach me to love as Christ loves.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Charles Wesley (1747)

Theme: Perfect love flowing from Christ into believers

1. Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of Heav'n to Earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown;
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.

2. Breathe, O breathe thy loving Spirit
Into ev'ry troubled breast;
Let us all in thee inherit,
Let us find thy promised rest;
Take away our love of sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith as its beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.

3. Come, Almighty to deliver;
Let us all thy grace receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve thee as thy host above,
Pray, and praise thee without ceasing,
Glory in thy perfect love.

4. Finish, then, thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in thee;
Changed from glory into glory
Till in Heav'n we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise!
