KEY VERSE

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." - 1 John 5:7

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The revelation of The Father is central to understanding God’s nature, authority, and love. In 1 John 5:7, we see the unity of the Godhead, the Father, the Word (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit, working together in perfect harmony. Yet, within this unity, the Father is revealed as the Source, the Origin, and the One from whom all things proceed.

The Father is not distant or abstract. He is intentional, relational, and deeply invested in His creation. From the beginning, He demonstrated His fatherhood through creation, provision, correction, and redemption. He is the One who calls, chooses, nurtures, disciplines, and restores.

To know God as Father is to move beyond religion into relationship. Many people know God as Creator or Judge, but few truly embrace Him as Father. This revelation transforms fear into love, insecurity into identity, and confusion into purpose.

The Father’s love is not passive, it is active and sacrificial. He gave His Son so that we might be reconciled to Him. His desire is not just to rule over you, but to dwell with you, guide you, and shape your destiny.

Understanding the Father requires:

  • Submission to His authority
  • Trust in His wisdom
  • Acceptance of His love
  • Obedience to His will

When you truly encounter the Father, your identity changes, you are no longer lost, but adopted; no longer striving, but secured; no longer empty, but filled.

Faith of Our Fathers
Frederick William Faber (1849)

Message:
A hymn celebrating faith passed down through generations, reflecting trust, loyalty, and devotion to the Father.

1. Faith of our fathers, living still
In spite of dungeon, fire and sword,
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whene’er we hear that glorious word!
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!

2. Our fathers, chained in prisons dark,
Were still in heart and conscience free;
And blest would be their children’s fate,
If they, like them should die for thee:
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!

3. Faith of our fathers, we will strive
To win all nations unto thee;
And through the truth that comes from God
Mankind shall then indeed be free.
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!

4. Faith of our fathers, we will love
Both friend and foe in all our strife,
And preach thee, too, as love knows how
By kindly words and virtuous life.
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!

THE TRIUNE WITNESS: THE INFALLIBLE TESTIMONY OF HEAVEN

KEY VERSE

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." - 1 John 5:7

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Scripture unveils a profound mystery, the unity and agreement of heaven’s testimony. The Father, the Word (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit are not separate voices in conflict but one divine agreement. This is the foundation of truth, authority, and salvation.

The Father wills, the Word reveals, and the Holy Spirit confirms. Every act of God toward humanity flows through this divine unity. Salvation is not a human idea, it is validated by heaven’s highest authority.

This verse also establishes the certainty of God’s promises. When God speaks, it is not a suggestion, it is a legally established truth in heaven. The believer must understand that their faith rests not on feelings, but on the agreement of the Trinity.

To reject this witness is to reject divine truth. To accept it is to step into eternal life, authority, and assurance. Heaven is not divided about you, God is fully committed to your redemption, transformation, and destiny.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand the unity of the Godhead.

  2. To establish faith on divine testimony, not human opinion.

  3. To recognize Jesus as the revealed Word.

  4. To acknowledge the role of the Holy Spirit in confirming truth.

LIVING BY THE WITNESS OF THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

KEY VERSE

"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." - 1 John 5:6 (KJV).

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The foundation of the Christian life is not built on assumptions, emotions, or human reasoning, but on truth revealed by the Holy Spirit. The Bible declares clearly that the Spirit is truth, meaning He is the divine witness, revealer, and confirmer of everything that pertains to God.

In a world filled with deception, half-truths, and confusion, believers must learn to discern the voice of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not merely speak truth, He is truth in essence. Therefore, when you follow Him, you cannot be misled.

The Spirit testifies of:

  • Christ’s finished work
  • Your identity in God
  • The will and direction of God for your life

Many people struggle because they rely on external validation instead of internal revelation. But the Spirit within you bears witness with your spirit (Romans 8:16), guiding, correcting, and affirming.

To live victoriously:

  • You must walk in alignment with the Spirit
  • You must submit to His conviction
  • You must reject every voice that contradicts truth

Truth is not just information, it is a Person living inside you.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand that the Holy Spirit is the embodiment of truth (John 16:13)

  2. To develop sensitivity to the Spirit’s voice

  3. To walk in obedience to divine instruction

  4. To reject deception and false doctrines

  5. To align daily decisions with God’s truth

  6. To grow in spiritual discernment

  7. To live a life led by the Spirit, not the flesh

  8. To build intimacy with God through the Spirit

  9. To manifest truth in character and actions

  10. To become a witness of truth to others

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

  1. Guides into all truth (John 16:13)

  2. Speaks only what He hears from God

  3. Reveals hidden things (1 Corinthians 2:10)

  4. Convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8)

  5. Glorifies Christ (John 16:14)

  6. Brings remembrance of God’s Word (John 14:26)

  7. Gives peace and assurance (Romans 8:16)

  8. Produces spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23)

  9. Empowers holy living

  10. Confirms divine direction

Lesson: The Holy Spirit is your inner compass, ignore Him, and you drift; follow Him, and you stay on course.

2. The Courtroom Witness

Lesson: The Holy Spirit is the ultimate witness, what He confirms is truth, regardless of human opinion.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

DEEP REPENTANCE

Search your heart:

  • Where have you resisted the Spirit?

  • Where have you believed lies?

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father,

I confess that I have not always listened to Your Spirit of truth.
Forgive me for every act of disobedience and ignorance.

THE WITNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE BELIEVER

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Apr 8th, 2026

THE WITNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE BELIEVER
Image

KEY VERSE

"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." - 1 John 5:6 (KJV).

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Christian life is not built on assumption, emotion, or mere religious activity, it is built on divine witness. The Holy Spirit is not silent; He actively testifies within the believer. He confirms that Jesus is the Son of God, that redemption is real, and that we belong to God.

When the Bible says the Spirit bears witness,” it reveals a deep spiritual reality: God did not leave us to figure Him out intellectually alone, He gave us His Spirit as internal evidence of truth. This witness is seen in:

  • Conviction of sin (not condemnation, but correction)
  • Assurance of salvation
  • Inner peace in alignment with God’s will
  • Sensitivity to righteousness
  • Discernment between truth and deception

Without the Spirit’s witness, a believer may drift into doubt, confusion, or religious formality. But with the Spirit, there is clarity, boldness, and assurance.

The Spirit also bears witness with our spirit (Romans 8:16), confirming our identity as sons and daughters of God. This means your faith is not just taught, it is experienced, confirmed, and sealed by God Himself.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand the role of the Holy Spirit as a witness of truth (John 15:26)

  2. To build confidence in salvation through the Spirit’s confirmation (Romans 8:16)

  3. To develop sensitivity to the Spirit’s leading (Galatians 5:25)

  4. To avoid deception by relying on spiritual discernment (1 John 4:1)

  5. To grow in intimacy with God through the Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14)

  6. To walk in obedience as guided by the Spirit (Romans 8:14)

  7. To experience inner peace through divine assurance (Colossians 3:15)

  8. To align life decisions with God’s truth (Proverbs 3:5–6)

  9. To deepen faith beyond physical evidence (Hebrews 11:1)

  10. To live a Spirit-led and truth-filled life (John 16:13)

  9. Gentle yet firm – 1 Kings 19:12

If you have ignored the prompting of the Holy Spirit, lived in doubt, or resisted His conviction, return to God today. The Spirit speaks, but you must respond.

THE COMPLETE WITNESS OF REDEMPTION: WATER AND BLOOD

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Apr 7th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE COMPLETE WITNESS OF REDEMPTION: WATER AND BLOOD
Image

KEY VERSE

"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." - 1 John 5:6 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Apostle John emphasizes a profound truth: Jesus Christ did not come by water only, but by water and blood. This statement confronts incomplete understanding of salvation.

  • Water represents His baptism, the beginning of His public ministry and identification with humanity.
  • Blood represents His crucifixion, the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of mankind.

Many accept Jesus as a teacher (water) but reject His sacrifice (blood). However, salvation is not complete without both:

  • The water speaks of cleansing and obedience.
  • The blood speaks of redemption, atonement, and covenant.

When Jesus was pierced on the cross, blood and water flowed out, a divine confirmation that redemption is both spiritual cleansing and sacrificial payment.

This means:

  • Christianity is not just moral reform (water),
  • It is also atonement through sacrifice (blood).

Without the blood, there is no forgiveness. Without the water, there is no transformation. Together, they form the full testimony of salvation.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand the fullness of Christ’s work.

  2. To embrace both cleansing and redemption.

  3. To deepen faith in the finished work of Christ.

  4. To reject partial or distorted gospel messages.

  5. To walk in holiness through spiritual cleansing.

  6. To appreciate the power of the blood of Jesus.

  7. To live in obedience and surrender.

  8. To strengthen assurance of salvation.

  9. To proclaim the complete gospel.

  10. To grow in spiritual maturity and truth.

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS

  1. Faith-filled (Hebrews 11:6)

  2. Cleansed heart (Psalm 51:10)

  3. Redeemed life (Ephesians 1:7)

  4. Obedient spirit (John 14:15)

  5. Humble attitude (James 4:6)

  6. Truth-driven (John 17:17)

  7. Spirit-led (Romans 8:14)

A man had a beautiful cup but refused to wash it. He only poured clean water into it repeatedly. Eventually, the water became contaminated.

Lesson:

Without cleansing (water), even good things become corrupted. God cleanses before He fills.

2. THE PAID BUT UNCLAIMED DEBT

A debtor’s bill was fully paid, but he kept living like a slave because he never accepted the payment.

Lesson:

The blood has paid your debt, but you must accept it by faith to live in freedom.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Return to the full gospel. Reject shallow Christianity. Embrace both the cleansing power of the Word and the redeeming power of the Blood.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Search your heart:

  • Have you embraced only religion without transformation?
  • Have you ignored the sacrifice of Christ while pursuing self-righteousness?

Turn fully to God today.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Lord Jesus,

I confess that I have not fully embraced Your truth.
Cleanse me by Your Word and wash me by Your blood.
Forgive my sins and make me whole again.
I surrender completely to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN

There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood
William Cowper (1772)

Message: A powerful hymn emphasizing the cleansing power of Jesus’ blood and redemption from sin

1. There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel's veins,
And sinners, plunged beneath that Flood
Lose all their guilty stains.

2. The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there hare I, as vile as he,
Washed all my sins away!

3. Dear dying lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power,
Till all the ransom'd church of God
Be saved, to sin no more.

4. E'er since, by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.

5. Then, in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing Thy power to save,
When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave.

6. Lord, I believe Thou hast prepared
Unworthy though I be,
For me a blood-bought free reward,
A golden harp for me;

7. 'Tis strung and tuned for endless years,
And formed, by power divine,
To sound in God the Father's ears
No other name but Thine.

THE WITNESS OF CHRIST: OUR ASSURANCE OF TRUE SALVATION

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THE WITNESS OF CHRIST: OUR ASSURANCE OF TRUE SALVATION

KEY VERSE

"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." - 1 John 5:6 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Apostle John boldly declares the completeness and authenticity of Jesus Christ’s mission: He came by water and by blood.

  • Water represents His baptism: the public affirmation of His identity and divine assignment (Matthew 3:16–17).
  • Blood represents His sacrificial death: the price paid for the redemption of humanity (Hebrews 9:22).

This truth confronts false beliefs that deny either His humanity, His sacrifice, or His divinity. Jesus did not come partially, He came fully: born, baptized, crucified, and resurrected.

The Spirit of God confirms this truth inwardly, making it a living reality in believers.

Why this matters:

  • Your salvation is not theoretical, it is historically proven and spiritually confirmed.
  • Your faith stands on three witnesses: Water, Blood, and the Spirit (1 John 5:7–8).
  • You are not following a myth, you are anchored in eternal truth.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand the full mission of Christ (John 1:29)

  2. To believe in the completed work of redemption (John 19:30)

  3. To embrace both cleansing (water) and atonement (blood)

  4. To walk in the witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16)

  5. To reject partial or false doctrines (Galatians 1:8)

  6. To live in assurance of salvation (1 John 5:13)

  7. To grow in spiritual discernment (Hebrews 5:14)

  8. To testify boldly about Christ (Acts 1:8)

  9. To live a purified life (Titus 2:14)

  10. To remain rooted in truth until eternity (Colossians 1:23)

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TRUE BELIEVERS

  1. Believe Jesus came in the flesh (1 John 4:2)

  2. Walk in righteousness (1 John 2:29)

  3. Love others genuinely (1 John 3:14)

  4. Obey God’s commandments (John 14:15)

  5. Possess inner witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16)

  6. Overcome the world by faith (1 John 5:4)

  7. Hate sin and pursue holiness (Romans 6:12)

  8. Abide in Christ (John 15:5)

  9. Speak truth boldly (Ephesians 4:15)

  10. Live with eternal perspective (Colossians 3:2)

ILLUSTRATION

1. The Legal Evidence Case

A court requires multiple witnesses to establish truth.
Jesus presents three witnesses: Water, Blood, and Spirit.

Lesson: Your salvation is legally and spiritually validated, it cannot be overturned.

2. The Cleansing River and the Sacrificial Lamb

A man washes daily in a river (water) but remains guilty until a sacrifice is made (blood).

Lesson: Cleansing without atonement is incomplete. Jesus provides both purification and redemption.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Have you believed only partially?
Have you accepted Jesus as Savior but not surrendered to Him as Lord?

God is calling you into complete truth, not selective faith.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Lord, I acknowledge every way I have ignored the fullness of Your truth, times I doubted, compromised, or lived casually with sacred things.
Cleanse me by Your water and redeem me by Your blood.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father,

I confess my sins and my incomplete understanding of Your truth.
I believe that Jesus Christ came by water and by blood.
Wash me, cleanse me, and redeem me fully.
Let Your Spirit bear witness in me.
I surrender completely to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THE VICTORY OF FAITH IN THE SON OF GOD

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Apr 5th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE VICTORY OF FAITH IN THE SON OF GOD
Image

KEY VERSE

"Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" - 1 John 5:5 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The foundation of Christian victory is not effort, religion, or moral struggle, it is faith in the identity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. This truth is not merely intellectual; it is transformational.

To believe that Jesus is the Son of God means:

  • Accepting His divine authority
  • Trusting His finished work on the cross
  • Submitting to His Lordship
  • Living in the power of His resurrection

The world represents systems of sin, fear, pride, and unbelief. No human strength can overcome it. Victory comes only through spiritual alignment with Christ.

Faith connects the believer to:

  • Divine power (Romans 1:16)
  • Eternal life (John 3:16)
  • Authority over sin (Romans 6:14)

When you truly believe, your identity changes, you become:

  • An overcomer
  • A child of God
  • A carrier of divine life

This belief produces boldness, righteousness, and endurance. Without this foundation, Christianity becomes empty religion. With it, life becomes a victorious walk with God.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To strengthen faith in Jesus as the Son of God (John 20:31)

  2. To establish victory over the world (1 John 5:4)

  3. To deepen spiritual identity in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)

  4. To cultivate obedience through faith (Romans 1:5)

  5. To overcome fear and doubt (Isaiah 41:10)

  6. To activate spiritual authority (Luke 10:19)

  7. To grow in righteousness (Philippians 3:9)

  8. To build unwavering trust in God (Proverbs 3:5-6)

  9. To develop endurance in trials (James 1:3-4)

  10. To secure eternal hope (1 John 5:11-12)

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TRUE BELIEVERS

  1. Faith-filled (Hebrews 11:6)

  2. Spirit-led (Romans 8:14)

  3. Obedient (John 14:15)

  4. Loving (1 John 4:7)

  5. Victorious (1 John 5:4)

  6. Bold (Acts 4:31)

  7. Holy (1 Peter 1:15-16)

  8. Persistent in prayer (Luke 18:1)

  9. Rooted in truth (John 17:17)

  10. Hopeful (Romans 15:13)

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. THE ROOT AND THE FRUIT

A tree does not struggle to produce fruit if its roots are deeply connected to a healthy source. Likewise, when your faith is rooted in Jesus as the Son of God, victory flows naturally.

Lesson:

Your results depend on your spiritual connection, not your effort.

2. THE LOCK AND THE KEY

A locked door cannot be opened by force if you lack the right key. Faith in Jesus is the key that unlocks victory over life’s battles.

Lesson:

Faith in Christ gives access to what effort cannot achieve.

My Faith Looks Up to Thee
Ray Palmer (1830)

Theme: Dependence on Christ alone

Message: Total trust in Jesus for salvation and daily victory

1. My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
take all my guilt away;
O let me from this day
be wholly Thine.

2. May Thy rich grace impart
strength to my fainting heart,
my zeal inspire;
as Thou hast died for me,
O may my love to Thee
pure, warm, and changeless be,
a living fire.

3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
and griefs around me spread,
be Thou my Guide;
bid darkness turn to day,
wipe sorrow’s tears away,
nor let me ever stray
from Thee aside.

4. When ends life's transient dream,
when death’s cold, sullen stream
shall o'er me roll,
blest Savior, then in love,
fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
a ransomed soul.
