EVERYONE WHO LOVES IS BORN OF GOD AND KNOWS GOD!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 12th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
EVERYONE WHO LOVES IS BORN OF GOD AND KNOWS GOD!

KEY VERSE

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God.” – 1 John 4:7 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The clearest evidence that a person truly belongs to God is love, not words, titles, miracles, positions, or activities.

God Himself is Love, and anyone who claims to know Him must reflect His heart.

Love is not an emotion alone; it is a divine nature produced in us by the Holy Spirit.

It shapes our decisions, attitudes, relationships, and responses.

To love is to show patience when offended, kindness when inconvenienced, mercy when wronged, and compassion when others fall short.

When you love, you prove that you have encountered God intimately.

The deeper you grow in God, the more love flows naturally from you.

Where love is absent, spiritual maturity is impossible.

This kind of love is sacrificial, intentional, and persistent.

It doesn’t seek revenge.

It forgives quickly, gives generously, speaks gently, serves willingly, and believes the best.

Love is the climate in which all spiritual gifts grow and the foundation upon which true holiness rests.

If you want revival, restoration, and divine encounter, start with love.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF TRUE GODLY LOVE

  1. To reflect the character of God (1 John 4:8).

  2. To fulfill the whole law (Romans 13:10).

  3. To demonstrate genuine discipleship (John 13:35).

  9. To produce lasting spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22).

  10. To prepare believers for eternity with God (1 Corinthians 13:13).

1. THE BROKEN POT

A gardener carried two pots daily, one perfect, the other broken.

The broken pot cried because it leaked water along the path.

But the gardener said,

“Look behind you.”

Flowers had grown along the path watered by the leaking pot.

Lesson:

God’s love shines most beautifully through our weaknesses.

When you love others, even brokenness becomes a blessing.

2. THE LIGHT IN THE DARK ROOM

A boy entered a dark room with a candle.

Instantly, darkness fled.

The boy said,

“This is what love does, it enters hearts and chases away darkness without noise.”

Lesson:

Where love enters, hatred, fear, bitterness, and confusion disappear effortlessly.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Wherever love has grown cold, through offenses, anger, pride, or hurt, God calls you today:

Return to love.

Repent of hatred, envy, malice, bitterness, and unforgiveness.

Make peace with those you’ve wounded or avoided.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Ask God to expose every root of pride and selfishness.

Admit where your heart has failed to reflect Christ.

Invite the Holy Spirit to cleanse and renew your love-walk.

Surrender your emotions, reactions, and relationships to God's refining fire.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Lord Jesus,

I acknowledge where I have failed to love like You.

Wash me in Your mercy.

Remove bitterness, pride, anger, and selfishness from my heart.

Fill me with Your love so I may walk like You, speak like You, and forgive like You.

I receive a new heart of love today.

Amen.

HYMN

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Charles Wesley (1747)

A hymn celebrating God’s perfect love working in us.

1. Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of Heav'n to Earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown;
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.

2. Breathe, O breathe thy loving Spirit
Into ev'ry troubled breast;
Let us all in thee inherit,
Let us find thy promised rest;
Take away our love of sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith as its beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.

3. Come, Almighty to deliver;
Let us all thy grace receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve thee as thy host above,
Pray, and praise thee without ceasing,
Glory in thy perfect love.

4. Finish, then, thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in thee;
Changed from glory into glory
Till in Heav'n we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise!

LOVE IS OF GOD!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 11th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
LOVE IS OF GOD!

KEY VERSE

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - 1 John 4:7

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Love is of God” (1 John 4:7) is not merely a statement, it is a revelation of God’s divine nature.

Love is not something God simply does; it is who He is.

Every expression of genuine, holy, selfless, and redemptive love flows from Him.

When believers walk in love, they are not just obeying an instruction, they are revealing the character of their Father.

The world defines love by emotions, preferences, benefits, or convenience.

But God defines love by sacrifice, truth, righteousness, holiness, and purpose.

God’s love embraces correction, discipline, compassion, mercy, patience, forgiveness, and steadfastness.

To say “Love is of God” means:

  • Real love originates from Him.

  • Real love reflects Him.

  • Real love leads people back to Him.

When love flows from us through the Spirit of God, it becomes a testimony of His presence within us.

Godly love is the engine of spiritual maturity, unity, ministry, holiness, and power.

The closer we grow to God, the deeper we grow in love.

The farther we move from God, the harder our hearts become.

To walk in divine love is to walk in God Himself.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS DEVOTIONAL

  1. To understand the divine nature of love.

  2. To reveal God as the source of all true love.

  3. To stir believers to walk in the Spirit of love.

  4. To purge counterfeit, flesh-driven forms of love.

  5. To strengthen believers’ capacity for forgiveness.

  6. To inspire sacrificial and unconditional love.

  7. To deepen unity in the body of Christ.

  8. To manifest God’s nature through daily actions.

  9. To cultivate love as a kingdom lifestyle.

  10. To help believers reflect Christ in relationships, service, and character.

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Lamp Without Oil

A man kept a beautiful lamp in his house.

It looked elegant, expensive, and impressive.

But every evening, when darkness fell, the lamp gave no light because it had no oil.

Lesson:

A Christian without love may look religious, gifted, and influential, but without love, there is no light.

Love is the oil that makes our lives shine.

2. The Farmer and the Two Seeds

A farmer planted two seeds, one he watered daily, the other he ignored.

Over time, the watered seed grew into a strong tree; the neglected one died in the soil.

Lesson:

Love grows where it is deliberately nurtured.

If you want to walk in God’s love, you must feed it through prayer, the Word, humility, and obedience.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Beloved, if there is bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, pride, envy, stubbornness, or coldness in your heart, God is calling you to repentance.

Love cannot thrive in a polluted heart.

Repent today and allow the Holy Spirit to renew your spirit.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Let your heart open before God.

Confess every hidden grudge, secret offence, silent malice, suppressed anger, and hardened attitude.

Ask Him to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Father,

I come before You acknowledging that I have not always walked in Your love.

Forgive me for every bitterness, unforgiveness, and unloving attitude.

Wash my heart with the blood of Jesus

Renew my spirit.

Restore the warmth of divine love within me.

Help me love like You love.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

BELOVED, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 10th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
BELOVED, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

KEY VERSE

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - 1 John 4:7

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

“Beloved, let us love one another!” is not a suggestion; it is a divine command rooted in the nature of God Himself.

Love is the true identity of every child of God because God is love.

When we walk in love, we reflect the character of our Father; when we refuse to love, we misrepresent Him.

In a world where offenses increase, compassion grows cold, and relationships suffer under pressure, God calls you back to the foundation of true spiritual living; LOVE.

Not human love that is conditional and unstable, but agape love, the God-kind of love that gives, forgives, heals, restores, and embraces even the undeserving.

Loving one another is proof that:

  • We are born of God

  • We know God

  • We walk in the light

  • We have passed from death to life

God empowers us by His Spirit to love beyond human limits.

When love leads, healing flows.

When love reigns, unity stands.

When love speaks, Christ is revealed.

Today, God is calling you to become an instrument of His love; in your home, relationships, workplace, ministry, and daily life.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF GODLY LOVE

  1. To reveal God’s nature to the world (1 John 4:8).

  2. To reflect true discipleship — Love marks us as Christ’s disciples (John 13:35).

  3. To preserve unity in the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:3).

  4. To conquer evil with good (Romans 12:21).

  5. To break the chain of offense and unforgiveness (Colossians 3:13).

  6. To sustain peaceful relationships (Hebrews 12:14).

  7. To activate faith, because faith works through love (Galatians 5:6).

  8. To build one another in spiritual maturity (Colossians 2:2).

  9. To fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).

  10. To bring glory to God (Matthew 5:16).

CHARACTERISTICS OF TRUE CHRISTLIKE LOVE

  1. Patient (1 Corinthians 13:4).

  2. Kind (1 Corinthians 13:4).

  3. Not jealous or boastful (1 Corinthians 13:4).

  4. Not proud or rude (1 Corinthians 13:5).

  5. Not self-seeking (1 Corinthians 13:5).

  6. Not easily provoked (1 Corinthians 13:5).

  7. Keeps no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5).

  8. Rejoices in truth, not evil (1 Corinthians 13:6).

  9. Always protects, trusts, hopes, endures (1 Corinthians 13:7).

  10. Never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8).

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Withered Flower and the Healing Touch

A woman kept a beautiful flower in her office.

Over time, due to stress, anger, and constant tension, she no longer watered it.

The flower began to wither.

One day, a colleague noticed the fading plant and offered kindness, helping her revive it.

The flower bloomed again; and so did their relationship.

Lesson:

Love is the water that keeps relationships alive.

Without love, everything withers; but with love, dead things live again.

2. The Two Brothers and the Bridge

Two brothers living on farmlands separated by a river fell into conflict and stopped speaking.

One day, an old carpenter built a bridge instead of a wall.

Seeing the bridge, the offended brother crossed it, embraced his sibling, and reconciliation was restored.

Lesson:

Love builds bridges, not walls

When we choose love over pride, God restores what was broken.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Have you struggled to love?

Have you allowed anger, bitterness, pride, or pain to replace love?

God is calling you to return to His heart.

Love is the true test of your walk with God.

Repent where you have failed to love.

Lord, I have not always loved others as You commanded.

I have held on to hurts, unforgiveness, pride, and self-centeredness.

Today I return to Your love.

Cleanse my heart.

Heal my relationships.

Make me an instrument of Your love.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

I come before You acknowledging my failures in loving others.

BY THIS WE KNOW THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH AND THE SPIRIT OF ERROR

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 9th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
BY THIS WE KNOW THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH AND THE SPIRIT OF ERROR

KEY VERSE

We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. - 1 John 4:6

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

In a world filled with voices, philosophies, opinions, doctrines, and influences, the believer must learn how to discern the origin of every spirit and every message.

The Apostle John teaches that “We are of God… By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error” (1 John 4:6).

Not every voice comes from God, and not every spiritual manifestation is divine in origin.

The spirit of truth is the Holy Spirit, who aligns perfectly with the Word of God, produces righteousness, glorifies Christ, and leads people into repentance, holiness, love, and obedience.

The spirit of error is the satanic influence that produces deception, rebellion, false doctrine, compromise, worldliness, pride, and destruction.

Every day, a believer stands at a crossroad where two voices speak: the truth of God and the deception of the enemy.

The ability to discern between both is the foundation of spiritual safety, victory, growth, and eternal destiny.

Jesus warned that false prophets, false doctrines, false teachers, and false signs would arise (Matthew 24:11).

Paul warned that deceiving spirits and doctrines of devils would attack the church (1 Timothy 4:1).

Therefore, discernment is not optional, it is a spiritual necessity.

To know the spirit of truth is to know the voice of God.

To detect the spirit of error is to expose anything contrary to God’s nature and Word.

This devotional calls you to a higher spiritual sensitivity, deeper alignment with Scripture, and a renewed commitment to walk in truth.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS DEVOTIONAL

  1. To help believers recognize the voice of God clearly.

  2. To guard the heart against deception and falsehood.

  3. To strengthen spiritual discernment through the Word and the Spirit.

  5. To expose the subtle operations of the spirit of error.

  6. To build confidence in the leading of the Holy Spirit.

  7. To deepen fellowship with Christ who is the Truth.

  8. To encourage believers to test all spirits and doctrines.

  9. To promote holiness, purity, and righteousness.

  10. To prepare believers for eternal life by walking in truth.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

  1. Always aligns with ScriptureJohn 17:17

1. The Two Lamps: Truth and Error

A man walked into a room with two lamps:

  • One bright and steady,
  • The other flickering.

Unable to choose, he lit both.

Over time, the flickering lamp produced smoke and darkness, choking him and turning the room unhealthy, while the steady lamp illuminated clearly.

Lesson:

Truth and error cannot coexist.

The spirit of error eventually darkens the soul, but the light of truth brings purity, clarity, and life.

2. The Shepherd’s Voice

A shepherd visited a farm with several flocks of sheep mixed together.

When he called, only his sheep responded and followed him, even though other shepherds were present.

Lesson:

Those who walk with God recognize His voice.

The more intimate your relationship with Christ, the more clearly you will discern truth from error.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Beloved, God is calling you to return fully to the truth.

Are there areas where deception, compromise, worldliness, or error has quietly entered your life?

The Lord is calling you away from anything that dilutes your spiritual clarity.

Repent now and come back to the spirit of truth.

DEEP REPENTANCE PRAYER

I return to You, the Way, the Truth, and the Life

Forgive me for every compromise, deception, and wrong influence that I have allowed into my heart.

Cleanse me from every participation in the spirit of error.

Purify my thoughts, my desires, my decisions, and my walk.

Amen.

HYMN

Holy Spirit, Faithful Guide
Marcus M. Wells (1858)

A hymn inviting the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and reveal truth, perfect for this devotional focus on discerning truth from error.

1. Holy Spirit, faithful Guide,
Ever near the Christian’s side,
Gently lead us by the hand,
Pilgrims in a desert land;
Weary souls fore’er rejoice,
While they hear that sweetest voice,
Whispering softly, “Wanderer, come!
Follow Me, I’ll guide thee home.”

2. Ever present, truest Friend,
Ever near Thine aid to lend,
Leave us not to doubt and fear,
Groping on in darkness drear.
When the storms are raging sore,
Hearts grow faint, and hopes give o’er–
Whisper softly, “Wanderer, come!
Follow Me, I’ll guide thee home.”

3. When our days of toil shall cease,
Waiting still for sweet release,
Nothing left but heaven and prayer,
Wondering if our names are there;
Wading deep the dismal flood,
Pleading naught but Jesus’ blood,
Whisper softly, “Wanderer, come!
Follow Me, I’ll guide thee home.”
