THE DECEIVERS WHO DENY CHRIST CAME IN THE FLESH

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:

"For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist." - 2 John 1:7 (KJV)

KEY VERSE

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." - John 1:14 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The foundation of the Christian faith is the truth that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, came into the world in human flesh to redeem mankind. The incarnation of Christ is not merely a doctrine; it is the demonstration of God’s love, mercy, and plan of salvation.

In the days of the apostles, there were deceivers who claimed spiritual knowledge but rejected the truth that Jesus Christ truly came in the flesh. They separated Christ’s divine nature from His earthly manifestation, denying the reality of His birth, suffering, death, resurrection, and saving work.

The warning in 2 John 1:7 remains relevant today. There are still teachings, philosophies, and voices that distort the person of Christ, presenting another version of Jesus that denies His true identity and mission.

To confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh means to acknowledge:

  • He is fully God and fully man.
  • He entered human history through His birth.
  • He lived a sinless life.
  • He died for our sins.
  • He rose again with power.
  • He is coming again as Lord and King.

Anyone who rejects this truth rejects the very foundation of salvation.

True believers must remain rooted in the Word of God, test every teaching, and refuse every deception that reduces Christ or replaces Him with human wisdom.

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The True Seal and the Counterfeit

A person who handles money learns that counterfeit notes are identified by comparing them with the genuine one. The closer one studies the original, the easier it becomes to recognize what is false.

Lesson:

Believers do not overcome deception by studying every false teaching; they overcome deception by knowing Christ and His Word deeply.

Scripture:
John 10:27

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

2. The Foundation Stone

A building may look beautiful, but if its foundation is removed, the entire structure becomes unsafe.

Lesson:

A faith that removes Christ’s true identity and saving work has no eternal foundation.

Scripture:
1 Corinthians 3:11

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Dear Lord, I come before You acknowledging that every truth about salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. Forgive me for every time I have allowed confusion, human opinions, or false teachings to weaken my confidence in Your Son.

Help me to return completely to Your Word and walk in the truth of Christ.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Father, I repent from every attitude that has placed human wisdom above Your revealed truth. I repent from every doubt, compromise, and neglect of Your Word.

Forgive me for every moment I have failed to honor Jesus Christ fully as Lord, Savior, and the One who came in the flesh to redeem mankind.

Cleanse my heart from deception and establish me in Your eternal truth.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father, I confess that Jesus Christ is Your Son who came in the flesh, died for my sins, rose again, and is coming back in glory.

You will not lose your place in Christ. Your eyes shall remain open to truth, your heart shall remain pure before God, and your life shall reveal the glory of Jesus Christ.

You shall finish your race faithfully and inherit eternal life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

WORDS OF TRUTH

Jesus Christ is not merely a teacher, prophet, or historical figure.

He is the Word who became flesh.
He is the Savior of the world.
He is the Lord of eternity.

Any message that removes Christ from the center removes the foundation of truth.

Hold firmly to Jesus Christ; the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:6)
