THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 10th, 2026
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
BELOVED, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER!
KEY VERSE
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. - 1 John 4:7
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
“Beloved, let us love one another!” is not a suggestion; it is a divine command rooted in the nature of God Himself.
Love is the true identity of every child of God because God is love.
When we walk in love, we reflect the character of our Father; when we refuse to love, we misrepresent Him.
In a world where offenses increase, compassion grows cold, and relationships suffer under pressure, God calls you back to the foundation of true spiritual living; LOVE.
Not human love that is conditional and unstable, but agape love, the God-kind of love that gives, forgives, heals, restores, and embraces even the undeserving.
Loving one another is proof that:
We are born of God
We know God
We walk in the light
We have passed from death to life
God empowers us by His Spirit to love beyond human limits.
When love leads, healing flows.
When love reigns, unity stands.
When love speaks, Christ is revealed.
Today, God is calling you to become an instrument of His love; in your home, relationships, workplace, ministry, and daily life.
BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF GODLY LOVE
To reveal God’s nature to the world (1 John 4:8).
To reflect true discipleship — Love marks us as Christ’s disciples (John 13:35).
To preserve unity in the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:3).
To conquer evil with good (Romans 12:21).
To break the chain of offense and unforgiveness (Colossians 3:13).
To sustain peaceful relationships (Hebrews 12:14).
To activate faith, because faith works through love (Galatians 5:6).
To build one another in spiritual maturity (Colossians 2:2).
To fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
To bring glory to God (Matthew 5:16).
CHARACTERISTICS OF TRUE CHRISTLIKE LOVE
Patient (1 Corinthians 13:4).
Kind (1 Corinthians 13:4).
Not jealous or boastful (1 Corinthians 13:4).
Not proud or rude (1 Corinthians 13:5).
Not self-seeking (1 Corinthians 13:5).
Not easily provoked (1 Corinthians 13:5).
Keeps no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5).
Rejoices in truth, not evil (1 Corinthians 13:6).
Always protects, trusts, hopes, endures (1 Corinthians 13:7).
Never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8).
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Withered Flower and the Healing Touch
A woman kept a beautiful flower in her office.
Over time, due to stress, anger, and constant tension, she no longer watered it.
The flower began to wither.
One day, a colleague noticed the fading plant and offered kindness, helping her revive it.
The flower bloomed again; and so did their relationship.
Lesson:
Love is the water that keeps relationships alive.
Without love, everything withers; but with love, dead things live again.
2. The Two Brothers and the Bridge
Two brothers living on farmlands separated by a river fell into conflict and stopped speaking.
One day, an old carpenter built a bridge instead of a wall.
Seeing the bridge, the offended brother crossed it, embraced his sibling, and reconciliation was restored.
Lesson:
When we choose love over pride, God restores what was broken.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Have you struggled to love?
Have you allowed anger, bitterness, pride, or pain to replace love?
God is calling you to return to His heart.
Love is the true test of your walk with God.

Make me an instrument of Your love.

HYMN
Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Charles Wesley (1747)
This hymn captures the heart of God’s perfect love transforming human hearts.
1. Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of Heav'n to Earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown;
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.
2. Breathe, O breathe thy loving Spirit
Into ev'ry troubled breast;
Let us all in thee inherit,
Let us find thy promised rest;
Take away our love of sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith as its beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.
3. Come, Almighty to deliver;
Let us all thy grace receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve thee as thy host above,
Pray, and praise thee without ceasing,
Glory in thy perfect love.
4. Finish, then, thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in thee;
Changed from glory into glory
Till in Heav'n we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise!
