THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Jan 25th, 2026
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
EVERY SPIRIT THAT CONFESSES THAT JESUS CHRIST HAS COME IN THE FLESH IS OF GOD!
KEY VERSE
“Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God.” - 1 John 4:2 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
This profound declaration is both a test of truth and a revelation of God’s redemptive plan.
The Apostle John, writing to a church surrounded by deception, gives a clear spiritual litmus test:
To confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh means:
He is fully God
He became fully man
He entered human history physically, historically, and redemptively
This truth confronts every false doctrine that denies Christ’s divinity, humanity, or saving work.
Christianity does not rest on philosophy but on a Person who stepped into flesh, bore sin, conquered death, and reigns eternally.
Any spirit, teaching, doctrine, or influence that truly acknowledges this reality is aligned with God.
Any spirit that denies it, no matter how spiritual it sounds, is not of God.
The incarnation is the foundation of salvation, truth, and spiritual discernment.
BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS TRUTH
To establish Jesus as the incarnate Son of God (John 1:14)
To preserve believers from false spirits and doctrines (1 John 4:1)
To affirm the reality of redemption through the cross (Hebrews 2:14)
To reveal God’s love expressed in human form (Romans 5:8)
To ground faith in historical and spiritual truth (Luke 1:1–4)
To confirm Jesus as the only Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5)
To expose counterfeit spirituality (2 Corinthians 11:13–15)
To strengthen the believer’s confession of faith (Romans 10:9–10)
To unify doctrine and life in Christ (Colossians 2:6–9)
To prepare the church for Christ’s return (Acts 1:11)
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO CONFESS CHRIST
Rooted in truth – John 17:17

A CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, many confess Christ with lips but deny Him with life.
Today is a call to return to pure faith, sound doctrine, and wholehearted devotion.
Repent of casual Christianity.
Repent of compromised truth.
Repent of silent confession.
DEEP REPENTANCE
“Search me, O God, and know my heart.
Reveal any belief, habit, or compromise that contradicts the truth of Christ incarnate.”
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Father,
I repent of every way I have denied You, knowingly or unknowingly.
I renounce false beliefs, lukewarm faith, and unholy living.
I confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came in the flesh, died for my sins, rose in glory, and reigns forever.
Cleanse me, restore me, and establish me in truth,
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Charles Wesley (1739)
Theme: The incarnation of Christ, “Veiled in flesh the Godhead see.”
1. Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King:
peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!"
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
join the triumph of the skies;
with th'angelic hosts proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem!"
Refrain:
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King"
2. Christ, by highest heaven adored,
Christ, the everlasting Lord,
late in time behold him come,
offspring of the Virgin's womb:
veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
hail th'incarnate Deity,
pleased with us in flesh to dwell,
Jesus, our Immanuel.
3. Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
