THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Jan 28th, 2026
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
ANTICHRIST YOU HAVE HEARD IS COMING!
KEY VERSE
“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come…” — 1 John 2:18
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
The Apostle John does not introduce the Antichrist as a surprise, a rumor, or a conspiracy, but as a spiritual reality already at work.
The Antichrist is not merely a future individual; it is a spirit, a system, and a mindset that opposes Christ, replaces Christ, or subtly removes Christ from the center of truth.
The danger is not only in open denial of Christ, but in counterfeit Christianity, truth mixed with error, morality without Christ, spirituality without submission to Jesus as Lord.
The spirit of antichrist thrives where Christ is acknowledged with lips but denied in obedience, doctrine, and lifestyle.
This devotional is not meant to produce:
- Fear, but discernment.
- Not panic, but preparedness.
- Not speculation, but steadfast faith.
BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS DEVOTIONAL
To awaken believers to spiritual discernment (1 John 4:1)
To expose false doctrines that subtly deny Christ (2 Peter 2:1)
To strengthen faith in the truth of Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
To call believers back to sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3–4)
To encourage steadfastness in the last days (Matthew 24:13)
To deepen understanding of spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:12)
To restore reverence for Christ as Lord and Savior (Philippians 2:9–11)
To promote holiness and obedience (1 Peter 1:15–16)
To prepare believers for deception and persecution (Matthew 24:24)
To refocus hearts on eternity (Colossians 3:1–2)
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST
Rejects Christ’s Lordship – Luke 6:46
Promotes false gospels – Galatians 1:6–8
Appears religious but lacks truth – 2 Timothy 3:5

Opposes sound doctrine – Titus 1:9–11

ILLUSTRATIONS
1. THE COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY
A counterfeit note may look genuine, feel real, and even pass through several hands, but it fails under proper inspection.
Lesson:
The spirit of antichrist often looks like Christianity.
It uses Christian language but lacks Christ’s nature, authority, and truth.
Discernment is not optional; it is survival.
2. THE DIMMING LAMP
A lamp that is unplugged may still glow faintly for a moment, but it will soon go out.
Lesson:
Any faith disconnected from Christ may appear alive briefly, but without Him, it will fade.
Christ is not an accessory, He is the source.
A CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, this is a call to examine our hearts.
Have we embraced comfort over truth?
Popularity over purity?
Religion over relationship with Christ?
“Search me, O God, and know my heart…” — Psalm 139:23
DEEP REPENTANCE
Lord, we repent for tolerating error.
We repent for ignoring Your Word.
We repent for exalting voices above Your truth.
We repent for compromising holiness for acceptance.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Father,
I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.
I reject every lie that contradicts Your Word.
Cleanse my heart from deception and pride.
Restore my hunger for truth and holiness.
I turn fully back to You, in obedience and faith,
in the name of Jesus. Amen.

HYMN
Onward, Christian Soldiers
Sabine Baring-Gould (1865)
Lesson: The Christian life is a disciplined march in truth, unity, and allegiance to Christ alone.
1. Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!
Christ, the royal Master,
leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
see his banner go!
Refrain:
Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!
2. At the sign of triumph
Satan's host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
on to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver
at the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
loud your anthems raise!
3. Like a mighty army
moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
where the saints have trod;
We are not divided;
all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine,
one in charity.
4. Onward, then, ye people,
join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices
in the triumph song;
Glory, laud, and honor,
unto Christ the King;
This thro' countless ages
men and angels sing.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Examine what you listen to, believe, and follow.
Does it exalt Christ or replace Him?
DEEP REFLECTION
If Christ were removed from your faith, what would remain, truth or habit?
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
You are not powerless.
You are not alone.
Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
ETERNITY IN VIEW
This world is temporary.
Truth is eternal.
Christ reigns forever.
CLOSING DECLARATION
I stand in truth.
I abide in Christ.
I will not be deceived.
I overcome by faith, in the name of Jesus.

Expose every form of deception around me, in the name of Jesus.
Keep my heart anchored in truth, in the name of Jesus.
Deliver me from false doctrines, in the name of Jesus.
Strengthen my love for Your Word, in the name of Jesus.
Preserve my faith in these last days, in the name of Jesus.
Clothe me with spiritual wisdom, in the name of Jesus.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I declare that I will not fall away.
My faith will endure.
My eyes will see truth.
My heart will remain loyal to Christ.
I stand victorious, in the name of Jesus.

but Christ has already overcome.
