HE IS BORN OF GOD!

(1 John 5:1)

KEY VERSE

“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God…” — 1 John 5:1 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

To be “born of God” means far more than a religious title.

It is a divine transformation of nature, identity, and spiritual status.

When a person believes that Jesus is the Christ; the Messiah, the Son of God, and the Savior of the world; he receives the new birth by the power of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3–6).

This birth does not come from human effort, intellect, or family lineage.

It is entirely of God.

It makes a person spiritually alive, cleansed, renewed, and repositioned in God’s family.

To be “born of God” is to:

• Carry His nature
• Desire His will
• Hate sin
• Love righteousness
• Overcome the world
• Walk in light and truth
• Manifest the character of God
• Have eternal life in your spirit

This birth equips the believer to walk victoriously in a fallen world.

It is the foundation of Christian identity, the secret of spiritual power, and the gateway to eternal fellowship with God.

OBJECTIVE OF BEING BORN OF GOD

1. To remind believers of their true spiritual identity in Christ.

2. To awaken confidence in the reality of the new birth.

3. To help believers walk in holiness, authority, and victory.

4. To strengthen assurance of salvation and eternal life.

5. To call the unbelieving heart into the experience of the new birth.

6. To inspire holy living consistent with being children of God.

7. To deepen intimacy with the Father who gave us new birth through His Son.

CHARACTERISTICS OF ONE BORN OF GOD

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Royal Birth Certificate

A young man discovered after years of suffering that he was the long-lost son of a king.

His identity had been hidden, but once revealed, everything changed.

He stood taller, walked boldly, and lived differently; not because of pride, but because he knew who he truly was.

Lesson:

When you know you are born of God, fear, shame, and insecurity lose their power. 

Identity fuels victory.

2. The Two Seeds

Two seeds were planted in the same soil.

One produced thorns and poisonous fruit; 

The other grew into a strong tree bearing sweet fruit.

The difference was not the soil; it was the seed’s nature.

Lesson:

The new birth gives you a new nature. 

You bear the fruit of God because His seed remains in you (1 John 3:9).

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Are you living beneath your spiritual birthright?

Have you allowed sin, compromise, or fear to silence your identity?

The Father calls you today:

Return to who you truly are; His child.

If you have never experienced the new birth, Jesus stands ready to transform your heart.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Say to God:

Lord, strip away every false identity I have embraced. 

Deliver me from the life of the old nature. 

Restore the innocence, purity, and power of one born of God in me.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father,

I confess that I have not always walked in the identity You gave me. 

Forgive me for every sin, doubt, and compromise. 

Wash me by the blood of Jesus. 

Today, I embrace the new birth fully. 

Let Your Spirit renew me, cleanse me, and empower me to live as Your child. 

I surrender completely.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Identify one habit, fear, or belief that contradicts your identity as a child of God.

Lay it before God in prayer and take one bold step today that reflects who you truly are; born of God and victorious!

DEEP REFLECTION

Being born of God is your divine DNA.
It means heaven recognizes you, hell fears you, and the earth is waiting for your manifestation (Romans 8:19).

Never let temporary struggles silence eternal truth:
You are born of God; and that is your victory.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Child of God, You are not ordinary.

Heaven backs you.

The Spirit leads you.

The Father loves you.

You carry God’s seed within you.

Walk boldly; you are born of God!

ETERNITY IN VIEW

The new birth is the passport to eternal life.

One day, you will stand before God not as a stranger but as His child.

Live every day preparing for that glorious meeting.

CLOSING DECLARATION

I am born of God.

His seed remains in me.

I walk in victory, purity, and authority.

I overcome the world.

The life of God flows through me.

I am a child of light, filled with His Spirit, destined for glory.

I am who God says I am; born of God, forever!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, thank You for the privilege of being born of You, in the name of Jesus.

2. Lord, let my life reflect the true nature of one born of God, in the name of Jesus.

3. Deliver me from every old habit that contradicts my new identity, in the name of Jesus.

4. Father, strengthen my spirit to walk in righteousness and holiness, in the name of Jesus.

5. Lord, let Your seed in me manifest in godly fruitfulness, in the name of Jesus.

6. Father, empower me to overcome the world daily, in the name of Jesus.

7. Holy Spirit, bear witness in my heart that I am God’s child, in the name of Jesus.

8. Lord, purge my heart of every impurity that fights my spiritual growth, in the name of Jesus.

9. Father, let the authority of being born of God be evident in my life, in the name of Jesus.

10. Lord, give me grace to live with eternity in view and finish well, in the name of Jesus.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I decree and declare:

You are born of God!

Every chain of the old life breaks now.

The nature of Christ rises within you.

You will walk in purity, power, and purpose.

You overcome every battle, every temptation, every fear.

You shine as a light to your generation.

Heaven’s identity rests upon you, permanently.

You will fulfill destiny and enter glory with joy.
