BY THIS IT IS EVIDENT WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Dec 3rd, 2025

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
BY THIS IT IS EVIDENT WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD!

(1 John 3:10)

KEY VERSE

“By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.”1 John 3:10 (ESV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The child of God is known not merely by profession but by manifestation.

God never leaves His own without evidence.

Just as a tree reveals its nature by its fruit, every true believer reveals their identity by their conduct, character, and love.

John contrasts two spiritual families:

Being a child of God is not just a title; it is an identity with visible proof.

You cannot belong to God and remain unchanged.

His Spirit within you produces fruits that no flesh can imitate.

Where there is no change, there is no evidence, and where there is no evidence, there is no true sonship.

This devotional calls you to reflect on your life:

Does your daily walk show who your Father truly is?

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF A TRUE CHILD OF GOD

  1. To live in righteousness (1 John 3:7).
  2. To overcome sin by the power of Christ (Romans 6:14).

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. THE TWO TREES

A farmer had two trees side by side.

One bore sweet fruit, the other bitter.

Though they looked alike from afar, their fruits told their true nature.

The passer-by always knew which tree was good.

Lesson:

Your fruits; behavior, words, love, purity, obedience; reveal your true spiritual DNA.

2. THE PRINCE AND THE SLUMS

A young prince disguised himself and entered a slum.

But even in rags, his speech, manners, and integrity exposed his royal upbringing.

Everyone eventually said,

This one is not from here.

Lesson:

Even in trials, pressures, and low moments, a child of God reveals heaven’s nature.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Beloved, if your life has not been reflecting the evidence of sonship, today is the day to return.

Let the Holy Spirit search you.

Let the fire of conviction break the power of hidden sin, compromise, and spiritual coldness.

The Father still receives His children.

Come with sincerity.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Say from your heart:

Father, I acknowledge where I have failed to reflect You.

Cleanse me.

Strip me of hypocrisy, secret sin, anger, bitterness, and worldliness.

Restore Your image in me.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father,

Forgive me for every action, thought, and attitude that has not reflected Your nature.

Wash me with the blood of Jesus.

Rekindle Your Spirit in me.

Restore my identity as Your child.

Help me to walk in righteousness and love daily.

I surrender my heart afresh.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN

Take My Life and Let It Be
Frances Ridley Havergal (1874)

1. Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for Thee,
swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from Thee,
filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as Thou shalt choose,
every power as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own;
it shall be Thy royal throne,
it shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee,
ever, only, all for Thee.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Identify one behavior that does not reflect God’s nature.

Today, with the help of the Holy Spirit, lay it down and replace it with one action that reflects God’s character.

DEEP REFLECTION

If the world examined your life; your reactions, your purity, your relationships;
would they clearly know you are a child of God?

Your identity is not hidden; it shows.

Live your life so heaven is visible through you.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

You are not alone on this journey.

The Spirit helps your weaknesses.

The Father knows your struggles.

Your growth is His delight.

Rise again.

Walk boldly.

Heaven is cheering you on.

ETERNITY IN VIEW

Remember:

Everything on earth fades, but your identity as a child of God is eternal.

Live with heaven in mind.

Live as one who belongs to the King.

CLOSING DECLARATION

I am a child of God.

His nature lives in me.

I walk in righteousness and love.

My life bears the fruits of the Spirit.

Darkness has no hold on me.

I reflect my Father in heaven.

From today, my identity will speak louder than my words.

Amen.

I am distinguished by light, governed by love, and empowered by the Spirit.

I am a child of God; evident, visible, and undeniable; in Jesus’ mighty name!

Amen.
