BY THIS IT IS EVIDENT WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL!

KEY VERSE:

“By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.” — 1 John 3:10 (ESV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Apostle John draws a sharp, unavoidable line between two identities:

• Children of God and 
• Children of the devil.

There is no middle ground, no neutral zone, and no blurred category.

Everyone on earth falls into one of these two spiritual families, and the evidence is not in words but in lifestyle, obedience, righteousness, and love.

This Scripture exposes a profound spiritual reality:

• The children of God bear God’s image; righteousness, love, truth, purity.
• The children of the devil bear the devil’s image; rebellion, hatred, sin, deceit.

This is not a call to condemn others; it is a call to self-examination.

The heart, habits, and fruits of one's life reveal one’s spiritual parentage.

God is Light, and those who walk in darkness cannot claim to belong to Him.

• The devil cannot create life, so he corrupts it.
• He cannot father in love, so he controls through deception.
• He cannot lead to truth, so he blinds minds.

But those born of God through Christ walk in a new life empowered by the Spirit.

This message is not to spark fear but holy awakening.

It is a call to ensure your life bears the marks of divine sonship.

Salvation must be evident; in character, conduct, and convictions.

A man once entered a house where two families lived in the same building.

The first home was full of respect, peace, order, and love. 

The second home was filled with shouting, fighting, lies, and chaos.

When asked why the difference, the landlord said:

The behavior of each home reveals the nature of the head of the house.

Lesson:

Your life reveals who your spiritual father is. 

Conduct exposes origin.

2. THE TWO TREES

Two trees stood in a garden.

One produced sweet, healthy fruit; 

The other produced bitter, rotten fruit.

They both had leaves, branches, and roots.

But the nature of the tree determined the fruit.

Lesson:

Your fruits; your actions, your words, your habits; reveal your spiritual nature. 

Good trees cannot bear bad fruit.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Beloved, examine your life.

Does your lifestyle reflect the righteousness, purity, and love of God?

Or does it carry the traits of darkness?

Do not ignore this warning.

Identity is not about attending church; it is about bearing fruit.

Repent today and step into true sonship.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Cry before God:

Lord, if my life has reflected disobedience or darkness, have mercy on me. 

I reject the lifestyle of the world and the devil. 

Purify me and make me truly Yours.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Father of Light,

I come humbly before You. 

I renounce every way in my life that does not reflect Your nature. 

Wash me, cleanse me, and break every chain of sin. 

I repent deeply for walking in darkness. 

Today, I choose righteousness, holiness, and obedience. 

Make me Your child in truth, in heart, and in conduct.

Your identity is not revealed by your words but by your walk.

Your spiritual father is known by the fruit you produce.

What does your life testify about who you belong to?

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

If you find darkness in your life, do not despair.

The Father’s arms are open.

Christ came to destroy the works of the devil and make you His own.

Restoration is possible, even today.

ETERNITY IN VIEW

Only the children of God inherit eternal life.

Only the righteous will stand with Christ in glory.

Your eternity is shaped by your identity, choose Christ now and live forever.

CLOSING DECLARATION

I am a child of God.

I reject every work of darkness.

I walk in truth, righteousness, and love.

My life bears the fruit of the Spirit.

I am sealed, sanctified, and secured in Christ.

My identity is divine and my destiny is eternal.
