THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Dec 1st, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
HE CANNOT SIN!
KEY VERSE:
“Whoever has been born of God does not commit sin; for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” — 1 John 3:9
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
This scripture does not imply that a believer is incapable of ever committing a sinful act.
Instead, it reveals a deeper spiritual reality:
The person who is truly born of God cannot continue to live in sin as a lifestyle.
Why? Because:
- The seed of God; His nature, His Spirit, His Word; abides inside the believer.
- Sin becomes uncomfortable, disturbing, and incompatible with the new life in Christ.
- The new creation has new desires, new appetites, and new convictions.
This truth means:
✔ Sin loses its dominion.
✔ The Holy Spirit convicts quickly.
✔ Holiness becomes your new nature.
✔ Christ-likeness becomes your pursuit.
“He cannot sin” means:
- he cannot indulge in sin
- he cannot enjoy sin
- he cannot celebrate sin
- he cannot remain in sin
- he cannot identify with sin
A true child of God cannot settle where he does not belong.
The nature of God in him rejects it.
The mark of salvation is not perfection but transformation.
The evidence of salvation is not sinlessness but sensitivity to sin and repentance from it.

1. THE CLEAN ROBE
A king gave his son a royal white robe and said,
Wear it always to honor your identity.
When the prince walked through muddy streets, he avoided dirty paths because he didn’t want the robe stained.
Lesson:
The believer avoids sin not out of fear, but because of identity.
The robe of righteousness makes you uncomfortable around filth.
2. THE NEW APPETITE
A man who once craved alcohol was healed after a miraculous encounter with God.
When he tried to go back to drinking, the taste became bitter and nauseating.
Lesson:
The new birth changes spiritual appetite.
Sin becomes bitter; holiness becomes sweet.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Have you drifted into sin?
Have you become comfortable with what God hates?
The seed of God is still in you.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Say slowly:
Lord, cleanse me from every hidden sin.
Break every secret chain. Purify my desires.
Burn away every appetite that contradicts Your nature.
Restore the joy of holiness within me.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Father,
I come in humility.
Forgive my sins.
Break every bondage.
Wash me with the blood of Jesus.
Renew my heart.
Restore my passion for holiness.
Cause Your seed in me to grow and bear fruit.
From today, I refuse to live in sin.
I embrace righteousness.
I choose Your will above mine.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
Take My Life and Let It Be
Frances R. Havergal (1874)
1. Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for Thee,
swift and beautiful for Thee.
3. Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from Thee,
filled with messages from Thee.
4. Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as Thou shalt choose,
every power as Thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it Thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own;
it shall be Thy royal throne,
it shall be Thy royal throne.
6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee,
ever, only, all for Thee.
