𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
GOD’S SEED ABIDES IN HIM!
KEY VERSE
“No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God.” — 1 John 3:9 (ESV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
The phrase “God’s seed abides in him” is a profound spiritual truth revealing the inner transformation that takes place when a person becomes born again.
The “seed” refers to the divine life, the nature of God, and the Holy Spirit implanted in the believer at salvation.
Just as every natural seed carries the DNA of the life within it, so God’s divine seed carries His nature, His desires, His purity, His power, and His character into the believer’s heart.
This spiritual seed produces a new appetite, new convictions, new strength, and a new pattern of living.
When God’s seed remains in you:
- Sin becomes uncomfortable
- Righteousness becomes desirable
- Holiness becomes attainable
- Transformation becomes possible
- Christlikeness becomes your daily pursuit
This doesn’t make the believer sinless, but it makes him unable to continue in sin comfortably.
The seed of God pushes the believer toward repentance, correction, renewal, and spiritual growth.
The presence of God’s seed is the greatest evidence of true salvation, for it produces divine fruit that cannot be manufactured by human effort.

ILLUSTRATIONS
1. THE LIVING TREE
A gardener planted two seeds in his field.
One was artificial, painted to look real but hollow inside.
The other was a real seed with life in it.
Months passed.
The artificial seed remained unchanged, beautiful, but lifeless.
The real seed sprouted, grew roots, endured storms, and bore fruit.
Lesson:
A Christian without God’s seed may look religious on the outside but lacks life.
A believer with God’s seed grows, changes, and bears fruit that proves the life of Christ within.
2. THE ROYAL BLOODLINE
A king adopted a child from the streets and gave him the royal seal.
Over time, royal behavior replaced his old ways, not because he was forced, but because the king’s identity became his own.
Lesson:
We grow into holiness because His nature is now in us.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, are you living like someone bearing God’s seed, or have you been drifting into a lifestyle that contradicts the divine nature?
Let His seed break sin’s power in your life.
Come back home to righteousness.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Say to Him from your heart:
Burn away every desire that fights Your nature in me.
Restore the power of Your seed in my spirit.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
I humble myself before You.
Cleanse me from every sin and restore Your divine seed fully in me.
Let Your life overpower every sinful desire.
Renew my heart, transform my mind, and strengthen my spirit to walk in holiness.
I declare that I am Yours, fully, completely, and forever.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

HYMN
Take My Life and Let It Be
Frances Ridley Havergal (1874)
1. Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for Thee,
swift and beautiful for Thee.
3. Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from Thee,
filled with messages from Thee.
4. Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as Thou shalt choose,
every power as Thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it Thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own;
it shall be Thy royal throne,
it shall be Thy royal throne.
6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee,
ever, only, all for Thee.
