THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Nov 2nd, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
YOU SHOULD KNOW!
KEY VERSE
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
There are things every believer must know, not just with the mind, but with the heart and spirit.
The difference between victory and defeat in the Christian walk often depends on what you know and believe about God, His Word, and your identity in Christ.
The enemy thrives in ignorance; he keeps people bound by what they do not know.
But God’s Word brings revelation and liberation.
You should know who you are in Christ, what belongs to you, and what God has promised.
You should know that Jesus has conquered death, sin, and the devil.
You should know that His Spirit lives in you, empowering you to overcome.
When knowledge of God’s Word fills your heart, doubt disappears, fear loses its grip, and faith arises.
Knowledge of truth establishes you, matures you, and aligns you with divine authority.
The call today is this:
You should know!
Know the Word, know your God, and know your identity, for ignorance is costly, but divine knowledge is freedom.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO TRULY KNOW GOD
- They Walk in Truth – (3 John 1:4) They live by the Word, not by emotions.
- They Are Strong – (Daniel 11:32b) Those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits.
- They Are Confident in God’s Promises – (2 Timothy 1:12) They trust what He has said.
- They Walk in Light – (Psalm 119:130) Knowledge of the Word brings illumination.
- They Overcome the Enemy – (Revelation 12:11) Their knowledge of Christ’s victory silences fear.
- They Live in Righteousness – (1 John 2:3-5) Knowing God transforms character.
- They Bear Fruit – (Colossians 1:10) Spiritual understanding leads to productive living.
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Inheritor Who Never Knew
A young man inherited a large estate from his father, but for years, he lived in poverty because no one told him about it.
One day, while cleaning an old drawer, he found the letter declaring him the rightful owner.
Overnight, his life changed.
Lesson: Many Christians live spiritually poor because they do not know their inheritance in Christ.
Knowledge of the Word activates possession and transformation.
2. The Broken Compass
A sailor once journeyed through the sea with a broken compass.
Thinking it was accurate, he ended up lost and near death.
Only when he was given the correct compass did he find his way home.
Lesson: If your understanding of life or faith is not grounded in God’s truth, you will drift.
The Word of God is the perfect compass, know it and follow it to reach your eternal destination.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Have you been walking in ignorance, depending on hearsay or human reasoning instead of God’s Word?
Have you lived as though you do not know the power, authority, and promises of your Father?
Today, repent!
Ask God to forgive your spiritual negligence and renew in you a hunger for divine knowledge.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Cry out:
Lord, open my eyes that I may see!
Remove blindness, ignorance, and pride.
Deliver me from every falsehood and assumption that has limited my walk with You.
Let the light of Your truth shine in me until I am transformed from ignorance to revelation.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Heavenly Father,
I repent for living below my spiritual privilege.
Forgive me for neglecting Your Word and ignoring Your truth.
Deliver me from ignorance and unbelief.
Lord, open my understanding and fill me with the knowledge of Your will.
Let Your Word abide in me richly and guide my steps daily.
From this day, I will seek to know You more deeply and walk in Your truth.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
Open My Eyes, That I May See
Clara H. Scott, 1895
Open my eyes, that I may see,
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key,
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!
2. Open my ears, that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear;
and while the wave-notes fall on my ear,
ev’rything false will disappear.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
ready, my God, Thy will to see;
open my ears, illumine me,
Spirit divine!
3. Open my mouth, and let me bear
gladly the warm truth ev’rywhere;
Open my heart, and let me prepare
love with Thy children thus to share.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
ready, my God, Thy will to see;
open my mouth, illumine me,
Spirit divine!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Set aside one hour today to study God’s Word.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal truths you’ve overlooked.
Write down three things you “should know” as a believer and commit to living them out daily.
DEEP REFLECTION
Knowing God is not a one-time event; it is a lifelong pursuit.
The more you know Him, the more you love Him; the more you love Him, the more you reflect Him.
Ask yourself today:
Am I growing in the knowledge of God, or am I standing still?
CLOSING DECLARATION

I know the power of His Word.
I know the authority of His name.
I know that I am not defeated but victorious.
The truth of God is alive in me, and ignorance has no power over my life.

I am free and full of divine knowledge, in Jesus’ name.
Amen!
