YOU KNOW THAT CHRIST IS RIGHTEOUS

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Nov 1st, 2025

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
YOU KNOW THAT CHRIST IS RIGHTEOUS

KEY VERSE:

“If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of Him.”1 John 2:29 (NIV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

To know that Christ is righteous is not just to acknowledge it intellectually but to experience it spiritually.

The righteousness of Christ is the divine standard of purity, truth, and justice.

It is the reflection of God’s holy nature manifested in Jesus Christ, who lived a sinless life, fulfilled all righteousness, and became our perfect example (Matthew 3:15; 1 Peter 2:22).

When John says, “You know that Christ is righteous,” he reminds believers that Christ is the foundation of all righteousness.

Knowing this truth demands that we also walk in righteousness.

You cannot claim to know a righteous Savior and live an unrighteous life.

Christ’s righteousness:

Justifies us before God (Romans 5:18),

Sanctifies us daily through the Word and Spirit (John 17:17), and

Empowers us to live victoriously over sin.

True knowledge of His righteousness births in us a hunger to imitate His character, humility, obedience, compassion, and holiness.

The more you know Christ, the more you will hate sin and love righteousness (Hebrews 1:9).

CHARACTERISTICS OF CHRIST’S RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE BELIEVER

  1. Purity of Heart – (1 John 3:3) Whoever has this hope purifies himself.
  2. Obedience to God’s Will – (John 14:15) If you love Me, keep My commandments.
  3. Hatred for Sin – (Romans 12:9) Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
  4. Love for Others – (1 John 4:7) Everyone who loves is born of God.
  5. Truthfulness and Integrity – (Psalm 15:2) He who walks uprightly and speaks the truth.
  6. Meekness and Humility – (Philippians 2:5–8) Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.
  7. Peace and Holiness – (Hebrews 12:14) Without holiness no one shall see the Lord.

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Polished Mirror

A young boy looked into a dirty mirror and saw a distorted reflection.

His father cleaned the mirror, and suddenly, the boy could see his face clearly.

Lesson: The Word of God cleanses our hearts so that Christ’s righteousness may be reflected in us.

If sin stains your life, your reflection of Christ becomes blurred.

Let His righteousness cleanse and renew you.

2. The Tailor’s Perfection

A master tailor once made a perfect garment.

An apprentice tried to imitate it but used a wrong pattern, and the result was crooked.

The tailor smiled and said, “If you follow the right pattern, your work will match mine.”

Lesson: Christ is the perfect pattern of righteousness.

To live righteously, we must follow His example and His Word as the true pattern of life.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Have you been living in compromise, claiming to know Christ but denying Him by actions, words, or thoughts?

It is time to return to righteousness.

Knowing that Christ is righteous means walking away from every form of sin and worldliness that contradicts His nature.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Let this be a heartfelt cry:

Lord, I confess that my life has not reflected Your righteousness.

I have excused sin and justified weakness.

Purge my heart with Your truth.

Cleanse me with Your blood and restore a right spirit within me.

Let Your righteousness be seen in me every day.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father,

I come before You in humility, acknowledging that You alone are righteous and just.

Forgive me for every way I have fallen short of Your standard.

Wash me with the blood of Jesus and make me righteous through faith in Christ.

Let my thoughts, actions, and desires align with Your holy Word.

May my life become a living testimony of Your righteousness.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

REFLECTION SCRIPTURES

  1. 1 John 2:29 – Everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
  2. 2 Corinthians 5:21 – He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
  3. Romans 3:22 – The righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
  4. 1 Peter 2:24 – He bore our sins in His body on the cross so that we might live for righteousness.
  5. Philippians 3:9 – Not having my own righteousness, but that which is through faith in Christ.
  6. Matthew 5:6 – Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
  7. Romans 6:18 – You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

HYMN

My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less
Edward Mote (1834)

1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Chorus:

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace;
in every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil.

3. His oath, his covenant, his blood,
support me in the whelming flood;
when all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay.

4. When he shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in him be found:
dressed in his righteousness alone,
faultless to stand before the throne.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Live today conscious of Christ’s righteousness in you.

Before speaking, acting, or deciding, ask:

Does this reflect the righteousness of Christ I claim to know?

Let your choices honor His holy name.

DEEP REFLECTION

The righteousness of Christ is not an accessory, it is your identity.

You are called to become what He is.

The more you know Him, the more you will reflect His character.

The world may not understand your devotion, but heaven recognizes it as true sonship.

CLOSING DECLARATION

Christ’s righteousness defines my life.

I am justified by His blood, sanctified by His Word, and empowered by His Spirit.

Sin has no dominion over me.

I walk in holiness, love, and truth.

The righteousness of Christ is alive in me, and I will reflect His light in this dark world.

Amen!
