THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Nov 3rd, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
EVERYONE WHO PRACTICES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS BORN OF HIM!
KEY VERSE
“If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.” — 1 John 2:29 (NKJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
The true evidence of being born of God is not found merely in words or religious appearances, but in a life that practices righteousness.
To practice righteousness means to live consistently by God’s standards, to love truth, to walk in integrity, and to hate sin.
To be “born of Him” is to carry His spiritual DNA, a new nature formed after Christ’s righteousness.
Just as a child reflects the nature of their parents, those born of God should reflect the holiness, love, and purity of their Heavenly Father.
Righteousness is not self-made; it is the outworking of God’s nature within us (Philippians 2:13).
When the Holy Spirit dwells in you, He produces fruits that reflect Christ’s character (Galatians 5:22–23).
Living righteously doesn’t mean perfection, but a consistent pursuit of God’s will and a hatred for sin.
To practice righteousness is to obey God’s Word, to walk humbly, to do justly, and to love mercy (Micah 6:8).
It is to live daily conscious of God’s presence, desiring His approval more than man’s praise.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE BORN OF HIM
- They Love Righteousness and Hate Sin — Psalm 97:10, Romans 12:9
- They Walk in Obedience to God’s Word — 1 John 3:7
- They Love Others Sincerely — 1 John 4:7–8
- They Live in the Light, Not in Darkness — 1 John 1:7
- They Bear the Fruit of the Spirit — Galatians 5:22–23
- They Pursue Holiness Daily — Hebrews 12:14
- They Reflect Christ’s Nature in Word and Action — Romans 8:29
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The King’s Heir
A poor orphan was adopted by a king and brought into the royal palace.
He was clothed in royal garments and trained in royal behavior.
When the boy tried to live like he did before, the king reminded him, “You are no longer who you were, you now carry my name.”
Lesson: When we are born of God, our nature changes.
We must live in a manner that reflects our new identity in Christ, the righteousness of our King.
2. The Clean Stream
Two streams flowed from the same mountain, one clean and pure, the other polluted by garbage dumped along the way.
The clean stream sustained life; the other destroyed it.
Lesson: Those born of God must keep their hearts pure, unpolluted by sin, because righteousness sustains spiritual life.
The source determines the flow, if God is your source, righteousness must flow from you.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Have you been compromising your walk with God?
Have you called yourself His child but lived contrary to His nature?
True sonship is shown by obedience and righteousness.
God is calling you to return to holy living, to be cleansed, renewed, and restored.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Cry to God today:
Lord, I confess that I have not walked in righteousness as I should.
I have spoken Your name but not always reflected Your nature.
Cleanse me from every impurity and renew a right spirit within me.
I don’t just want to say I am Yours; I want to live like I am born of You.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Heavenly Father,
I come before You with humility.
I have fallen short of Your righteousness and allowed sin and compromise to stain my walk.
Forgive me, Lord.
Wash me in the blood of Jesus and make me new.
Let Your Holy Spirit take control of my life.
From today, help me to live in truth, purity, and righteousness that brings glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
Take My Life and Let It Be
Frances R. Havergal, 1874
1. Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
3. Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4. Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.
