THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
SEE HOW MUCH THE FATHER HAS LOVED US!
KEY VERSE
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” — 1 John 3:1 (NLT)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
The love of the Father is not a distant or theoretical love, it is real, deep, and sacrificial.
The Apostle John begins with awe and wonder: “See!” meaning, pause, reflect, and behold the greatness of it.
It’s a love that cannot be measured by human standards, for it surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:19).
The Father’s love is transformational.
It is not based on what we’ve done, but on who He is.
It reached for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8), adopted us into His family (Romans 8:15), and continues to nurture and guide us daily.
This love changes how we live, it births confidence, holiness, and compassion.
It restores broken identity and replaces fear with assurance.
The Father’s love is not to be earned; it is to be received, experienced, and reflected in how we love others.
When you grasp the depth of His love, shame loses power, sin loses attraction, and your heart overflows with gratitude and worship.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FATHER’S LOVE
- Unconditional – God loves us even when we fail. (Romans 5:8)
- Sacrificial – Shown through the gift of His Son. (John 3:16)
- Adopting – He calls us His children. (1 John 3:1, Romans 8:15)
- Transforming – His love changes our hearts and desires. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
- Protective – He shields His own from destruction. (Psalm 91:4)
- Disciplining – He corrects those He loves. (Hebrews 12:6)
- Eternal – Nothing can separate us from it. (Romans 8:38–39)
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Orphan and the King
A poor orphan boy was found wandering the streets.
A king saw him, brought him into the palace, gave him new clothes, a ring, and called him son.
The boy kept asking,
Why me?
The king replied,
Because I have chosen to love you.
Lesson:
We were spiritual orphans, but God adopted us into His royal family.
His love is not earned, it is bestowed freely.
2. The Prodigal Son’s Return
The prodigal son left home in arrogance, wasted everything, and returned empty-handed.
Yet, his father ran to meet him, embraced him, and restored him with joy.
Lesson:
The Father’s love does not wait for perfection; it runs toward repentance.
No matter how far you have gone, His arms remain open.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, have you been distant from the Father, chasing the world’s love while neglecting His?
Have you doubted His affection or lived like an orphan when you are a child of the King?
Today, return to the Father’s embrace.
His love is waiting.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Say to God:
Father, forgive me for doubting Your love.
Forgive me for trying to earn what You freely gave.
Heal the wounds that made me run from You.
I return to Your presence, restore me as Your child.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Loving Father,
I come before You with a humble heart.
Forgive me for every time I doubted Your love or walked away from Your truth.
Wash me clean from sin and shame.
Thank You for calling me Your child through Jesus Christ.
Let Your love heal every wound and renew my spirit.
From today, I live as a beloved child, secure in Your everlasting arms.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

HYMN
Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Charles Wesley (1747)
1. Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of Heav'n to Earth come down,
Fix in us Thy humble dwelling,
All Thy faithful mercies crown;
Jesus, Thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love Thou art;
Visit us with Thy salvation,
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.
2. Breathe, O breathe Thy loving Spirit
Into ev'ry troubled breast;
Let us all in thee inherit,
Let us find thy promised rest;
Take away our love of sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith as its beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.
3. Come, Almighty to deliver;
Let us all thy grace receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve thee as thy host above,
Pray, and praise thee without ceasing,
Glory in thy perfect love.
4. Finish, then, thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in thee;
Changed from glory into glory
Till in Heav'n we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Take a few quiet moments to meditate on 1 John 3:1.
Write down three ways God has demonstrated His love in your life this year.
Then, show love to someone today, forgive, bless, or encourage them as a reflection of the Father’s love.
DEEP REFLECTION
You are not what the world calls you; you are who the Father says you are, His beloved child.
Let that truth sink deep.
The proof of His love is the cross; the evidence is your salvation; the response should be your total surrender.
CLOSING DECLARATION
I am loved by the Father. His love defines me, sustains me, and transforms me.
I am no longer an orphan but a child of the King.
I will walk in the confidence of His affection and reflect His love to others.
His love never fails, never fades, and never ends.
Amen.
