THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE WORLD DOES NOT KNOW US!
KEY VERSE
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.” – 1 John 3:1 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
When you are truly born of God, your life, values, and desires no longer align with this world’s system.
The world does not understand believers because they live by a different Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, not the spirit of this age (1 Corinthians 2:12–14).
The reason the world does not know us is that it never knew the Father.
Our identity is hidden in Christ (Colossians 3:3), and to those who are spiritually blind, our lives seem strange, even foolish (1 Corinthians 1:18).
True Christians often face rejection, misunderstanding, and ridicule because they walk by faith, pursue holiness, and live for eternity rather than earthly fame.
But this separation is not shame, it is glory!
We are citizens of Heaven (Philippians 3:20),
Called out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
Therefore, do not be discouraged when the world rejects you.
Jesus said,
If the world hates you, remember that it hated Me first (John 15:18).
The world may not recognize you, but Heaven does.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE UNKNOWN BY THE WORLD
- Spirit-Led – They walk by the Spirit, not by flesh. (Galatians 5:16)
- Heaven-Minded – Their eyes are on eternal things. (Colossians 3:2)
- Holy and Set Apart – They refuse to conform to worldly standards. (Romans 12:2)
- Persecuted but Peaceful – They rejoice in trials. (Matthew 5:10–12)
- Misunderstood – Their motives are godly, yet misjudged. (John 15:19)
- Hidden in Christ – Their true glory is spiritual, not worldly. (Colossians 3:3–4)
- Loved by God – Their identity comes from divine adoption, not human approval. (1 John 3:1)
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Candle in the Daylight
A man lit a candle in broad daylight.
People laughed and asked,
Why light a candle when the sun is shining?
He replied,
Because my light is not meant for the world’s eyes, but for the dark places where others refuse to go.”
Lesson:
Believers may seem unnecessary or odd to the world, but their light shines in spiritual darkness where it’s most needed.
2. The Eagle Among Chickens
A young eagle was raised among chickens.
It clucked, scratched the ground, and never looked up.
One day, it saw another eagle soaring and realized it was born for higher heights.
It spread its wings and took flight, leaving the chickens behind.
Lesson:
The world may treat you like one of its own, but your nature in Christ is different.
You were born to soar above worldly systems.
Don’t lose your heavenly identity trying to fit in with the world.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Have you been seeking the world’s approval more than God’s recognition?
Have you hidden your faith to blend in?
Repent today.
God has not called you to be accepted by the world, but to be transformed for His glory.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Say to the Lord:
Father, I confess that I have tried to please men more than You.
I have compromised truth to be accepted.
Forgive me for forgetting who I am in You.
Restore my boldness and renew my mind.
Let me stand firm in Your Word, even when the world rejects me.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Heavenly Father,
I come before You in humility.
Forgive me for every time I sought the world’s approval instead of Yours.
Cleanse me from every compromise and fear of rejection.
Strengthen me to live boldly as Your child.
Let my life reflect Your light, even when misunderstood.
Help me to remain steadfast in faith until the day my true glory is revealed with Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
This World Is Not My Home
Albert E. Brumley (1936)
1. This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue;
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door,
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Chorus:
O Lord, you know I have no friend like you,
If heaven's not my home, then Lord what will I do?
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door,
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
2. They're all expecting me, and that's one thing I know,
My Savior pardoned me and now I onward go;
I know He'll take me thro' tho' I am weak and poor,
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
3. I have a loving Savior up in glory-land,
I don't expect to stop until I with Him stand,
He's waiting now for me in heaven's open door,
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
4. Just up in glory-land we'll live eternally,
The saints on every hand are shouting victory,
Their songs of sweetest praise drift back from heaven's shore,
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Spend quiet time today meditating on 1 John 3:1.
Ask yourself:
Where do I seek validation,
from Heaven or from men?”
Then, do one act that boldly identifies you as a follower of Christ, even if it’s unpopular.
DEEP REFLECTION
To be unknown by the world is not rejection, it is recognition that you belong to another Kingdom.
The world did not recognize Jesus, yet He fulfilled His divine purpose.
Don’t trade your eternal identity for temporary applause.
CLOSING DECLARATION
I am not of this world; I am a child of the Most High God.
My life is hidden with Christ.
The world may not understand me, but Heaven celebrates me.
I will live to please God, walk in truth, and shine my light until He returns.
Amen.

Amen!
