THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Nov 7th, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
IT HAS NOT KNOWN GOD!
KEY VERSE
“O righteous Father, the world has not known You; but I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me.” — John 17:25 (NKJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
When Jesus said,
He revealed a heartbreaking truth, that despite God’s visible works, many hearts remain blind to His nature, deaf to His voice, and hardened against His will.
To “know God” is not mere intellectual awareness; it is relational intimacy, a personal experience of His character, love, and truth through obedience and fellowship.
The world prides itself on knowledge, technology, science, and philosophy, yet remains ignorant of the Creator.
Spiritual blindness prevents man from recognizing God’s hand even in His creation (Romans 1:20–22).
This ignorance leads to rebellion, corruption, and spiritual death.
To know God is to love Him, and to love Him is to obey Him (John 14:15).
Knowledge without obedience is hypocrisy;
Religion without relationship is emptiness.
True knowledge of God transforms a person’s life, producing humility, holiness, and reverence.
The tragedy of our time is that many confess faith but do not truly know God, they know about Him but not Him.
God desires to be known deeply, personally, and experientially through Christ Jesus and His Word.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO TRULY KNOW GOD
- They Love Righteousness and Hate Evil – (Hebrews 1:9)
- They Obey God’s Word – (1 John 2:3–4)
- They Walk in Humility – (Micah 6:8)
- They Show Compassion and Mercy – (Jeremiah 22:16)
- They Pursue Holiness – (1 Peter 1:15–16)
- They Depend on God’s Strength – (Daniel 11:32)
- They Bear Spiritual Fruit – (John 15:5)
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Scholar and the Shepherd
A famous Bible scholar once visited a countryside church.
After quoting Psalm 23 with eloquence, the people applauded.
Then an old shepherd, with trembling hands and simple words, recited the same Psalm, and the entire church wept.
The scholar, humbled, said:
I know the Psalm, but he knows the Shepherd.
Lesson:
Knowing about God is not the same as knowing God personally.
Relationship, not intellect, brings revelation.
2. The Lamp Without Oil
A man bought a beautiful oil lamp but never filled it.
Every night he complained about darkness.
The lamp was designed to shine, but without oil, it remained useless.
Lesson:
A person who claims faith without knowing God through His Spirit is like a lamp without oil, designed for light, yet trapped in darkness.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Have you been near religion but far from relationship?
Have you settled for church attendance without heart intimacy?
The world’s ways can never replace the knowledge of the Living God.
Return to Him today, know Him not just by name, but by experience, by fellowship, by daily surrender.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Say sincerely:
Father, I confess that I have walked in the shadows of Your truth, speaking of You but not living in Your presence.
Forgive me for every time I replaced knowing You with religious performance.
Strip away my pride and self-sufficiency.
Reveal Yourself to me again, in purity, truth, and power.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Righteous Father,
I come before You in humility.
Forgive me for knowing about You but not walking in true relationship with You.
Cleanse my heart of pride, sin, and spiritual blindness.
Open my eyes to see You, my heart to love You, and my life to reflect You.
Lord Jesus, teach me Your ways and fill me with the Holy Spirit that I may know You intimately and live by Your truth daily.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

HYMN
My Faith Looks Up to Thee
Ray Palmer (1830)
1. My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
take all my guilt away;
O let me from this day
be wholly Thine.
2. May Thy rich grace impart
strength to my fainting heart,
my zeal inspire;
as Thou hast died for me,
O may my love to Thee
pure, warm, and changeless be,
a living fire.
3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
and griefs around me spread,
be Thou my Guide;
bid darkness turn to day,
wipe sorrow’s tears away,
nor let me ever stray
from Thee aside.
4. When ends life's transient dream,
when death’s cold, sullen stream
shall o'er me roll,
blest Savior, then in love,
fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
a ransomed soul.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Spend 30 minutes alone with God today, no music, no phone, no noise.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you have substituted routine for relationship.
Write down what He shows you and pray over it sincerely.
DEEP REFLECTION
The greatest tragedy is not ignorance of the world but ignorance of the Creator.
The mark of true spirituality is not power, position, or gifts, it is intimacy with God.
To know Him is eternal life (John 17:3).
Seek to know His heart, not just His hand.
CLOSING DECLARATION
I choose to know God deeply and personally.
I will no longer live by hearsay but by revelation.
The Spirit of truth will teach me daily.
My life will reflect His character, and my heart will burn with His love.
I am no longer blind, I know my Father, and He knows me.
Amen.
