THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Nov 23rd, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
HE WHO PRACTICES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS
KEY VERSE
“Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.” — 1 John 3:7 (NKJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Righteousness is not merely a title, it is a lifestyle.
Scripture teaches that righteousness is not just something we receive through Christ; it is something we demonstrate through daily obedience.
He who practices righteousness, describes a believer whose walk matches their confession.
To practice righteousness means to align your thoughts, words, habits, relationships, and desires with the nature of Christ.
It is living out the new life given to us at salvation.
God’s righteousness is not passive; it transforms, purifies, and reshapes us into the image of His Son.
The Apostle John warns believers not to be deceived:
Righteousness is visible, tangible, and practical.
A tree is known by its fruit (Matthew 7:17).
If Christ dwells within you, His righteousness will show in your character, choices, and conduct.
Therefore, righteousness is not occasional obedience, it is continual practice, a daily yielding to the Holy Spirit and resisting the works of the flesh.
It is proof of true sonship, evidence of spiritual maturity, and the pathway to intimacy with God.

ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Sculptor and the Stone
A sculptor was asked how he created such beautiful statues from rough stones. He replied:
I simply remove everything that does not look like the image I want.
Lesson:
Practicing righteousness means letting God continually remove attitudes, habits, and desires that do not look like Christ.
2. The Clean River
Two rivers flowed side-by-side, one clear, one muddy.
The clear one stayed pure because it had a constant flow from a fresh spring.
Lesson:
Righteousness flows from a life constantly refreshed by the Holy Spirit.
When your source is pure, your life remains clean.
A CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, righteousness is not accidental.
If your walk has been compromised by sin, double-living, spiritual laziness, or worldly conformity, the Father calls you today:
Return to the path of righteousness.
Let the Holy Spirit rekindle holy living in you.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Say to God:
Lord, I surrender every unrighteous habit, every hidden sin, and every compromise.
Purge me like gold, cleanse me like hyssop, and restore the flame of holiness in my life.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
I come before You with a humble heart.
Forgive me for every unrighteous action, thought, and habit.
Restore in me a heart that longs for purity.
Help me to practice righteousness daily and walk like Jesus walked.
Strengthen my spirit and lead me in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.
Amen.

HYMN
Take My Life and Let It Be
Frances Ridley Havergal (1874)
1. Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for Thee,
swift and beautiful for Thee.
3. Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4. Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it Thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own;
it shall be Thy royal throne,
it shall be Thy royal throne.
6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee,
ever, only, all for Thee.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Identify one unrighteous habit in your life and surrender it completely.
Then, choose one righteous action (forgiveness, generosity, holiness, obedience) and practice it today.
DEEP REFLECTION
Righteousness is the mark of God’s children.
It is not proven by church attendance, titles, or religious activities, but by the fruit of a transformed life.
One day, we will stand before God, and only the righteous will enter His kingdom.
Let eternity guide your choices today.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
God does not ask you to walk in righteousness by your own strength.
He has given you:
- His Spirit to empower you,
- His Word to guide you,
- His grace to sustain you,
- His love to anchor you.
You can live a righteous life because Christ lives in you!
ETERNITY IN VIEW
Every act of righteousness is a seed with eternal reward.
Every step toward holiness is a step toward your heavenly home.
Live with heaven in mind, because eternity is closer than ever.
