𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
EVERYONE WHO LIVES IN UNION WITH CHRIST DOES NOT CONTINUE TO SIN
KEY VERSE
“Everyone who lives in union with Christ does not continue to sin; but whoever continues to sin has never seen Him or known Him.” — 1 John 3:6 (GNT)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
To live in union with Christ means more than attending church or identifying as a Christian.
It means an intimate, ongoing, life-transforming fellowship with Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
Union with Christ changes a person from the inside out.
His life becomes your life; His desires become your desires; His holiness becomes your pursuit.
This scripture does not teach that believers never make mistakes.
Rather, it means:
- A true believer does not continue in habitual, unrepentant sin.
- The life of Christ within the believer breaks the power of sin.
- Sin becomes uncomfortable, painful, and incompatible with your new identity.
- You grow in righteousness, purity, and godly obedience.
Christ didn’t only save you from the penalty of sin, He saved you from the power of sin, and ultimately the presence of sin.
To be united with Christ is to walk in the light, reject darkness, and live daily in the strength and purity of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot live in Him and remain the same.
His presence transforms everything.

ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Poisoned River
A village used a river contaminated with slow-acting poison.
People drank from it daily, unaware it was killing them gradually.
One day, a new spring was opened, pure, refreshing, and life-giving.
Those who chose the new spring lived; those who kept drinking from the old river continued dying.
Lesson:
Sin is the poisoned river; Christ is the living water.
You cannot remain in Christ and keep drinking from the river of sin.
Union with Him requires turning fully to the pure spring of righteousness.
2. The Master Craftsman
A carpenter took a twisted, rough, abandoned piece of wood.
Day after day, he planed it, shaped it, sanded it, and refined it.
Over time, the wood did not resist but yielded to his hands.
Eventually, it became a beautiful instrument producing sweet melodies.
Lesson:
Union with Christ shapes you into His image.
A believer who truly yields to Him cannot resist transformation.
Sin loses power as Christ’s character takes form in you.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, have you been flirting with sin while claiming fellowship with Christ?
Have you excused habits, thoughts, or lifestyles that contradict godliness?
Return to the Lord!
Christ calls you to a life of holiness, purity, and victory, not bondage.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Say from your heart:
Lord, I am tired of cycles of sin.
I am tired of darkness controlling me.
Break every chain.
Purify me.
Restore my fellowship with You.
Make me hate what You hate and love what You love.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
I come before You in humility.
I confess my sins and every hidden compromise.
Cleanse me by the blood of Jesus.
Break every bondage of habitual sin.
Restore my union with Christ and renew my desire for holiness.
Let the power of Christ rise in me, transforming my heart and my life.
I choose righteousness. I choose obedience.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

HYMN
Take My Life and Let It Be
Frances Ridley Havergal (1874)
1. Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for Thee,
swift and beautiful for Thee.
3. Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4. Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it Thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is Thine own;
it shall be Thy royal throne,
it shall be Thy royal throne.
6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee,
ever, only, all for Thee.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Identify one sin, habit, or compromise that keeps recurring.
Write it down.
Pray over it.
Surrender it completely to Christ, and take one practical step to cut it off today.
DEEP REFLECTION
True union with Christ is not proven by words but by transformed living.
Holiness is not optional.
It is the evidence of genuine fellowship with Jesus.
Ask yourself:
Is my life reflecting Christ or contradicting Him?
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
You are not powerless.
Sin does not own you.
Christ in you is stronger than anything against you.
You are being shaped, refined, and strengthened.
Through Christ, you will walk in victory.

Amen.
