THERE IS NO SIN IN HIM!

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THERE IS NO SIN IN HIM!

KEY VERSE

“You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.”1 John 3:5 (ESV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The declaration that “there is no sin in Him” is a foundational truth of the Christian faith, speaking to the absolute purity and perfection of Jesus Christ.

He is the spotless Lamb of God, the sinless Savior who bore the sins of the world, not as one guilty, but as the only One worthy to redeem.

Jesus' sinlessness is not just a theological concept, it is vital to our salvation.

If there had been sin in Him, He would have been disqualified from atoning for ours.

But because He is without sin, He could take ours upon Himself and offer us righteousness in exchange.

This statement also calls us to transformation.

We are His followers and must not make peace with sin in our lives.

While we are not sinless in nature, we are called to strive for holiness through His grace.

In Him, freedom from sin is possible, not by our strength, but by His perfect sacrifice and sustaining power.

Let this truth lead us not to shame but to worship, and then repentance.

Because where sin abounds, grace abounds much more (Romans 5:20), and in Him, there is both pardon and power for holy living.

CHARACTERISTICS OF HIS SINLESSNESS

  1. Sinless in Nature – (2 Corinthians 5:21)
  2. Tempted Yet Without Sin – (Hebrews 4:15)
  3. Spotless Lamb of God – (1 Peter 1:19)
  4. No Deceit Found in Him – (1 Peter 2:22)
  5. Righteous Advocate – (1 John 2:1)
  6. Blameless Sacrifice – (Ephesians 5:2)
  7. Perfect High Priest – (Hebrews 7:26-27)
  8. Holy and Innocent – (Luke 23:14)
  9. Just Judge – (Acts 3:14)
  10. The Image of God’s Holiness – (Colossians 1:15)

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Perfect Glass

A jeweler displayed two glasses, one perfect and one cracked, under a bright light.

The cracked one distorted the light, the perfect one reflected it clearly.

Lesson:

Jesus is the perfect vessel through whom God’s light shines without distortion.

We must look to Him to understand holiness, pure and unmixed.

2. The Pure Water Spring

In a village, water from a spring was always fresh, pure, and life-giving.

One day, a stranger polluted a portion downstream.

The source itself remained clean, people who drank from it were revived.

Lesson:

Though sin pollutes humanity, Jesus, the Source, remains pure.

Those who drink deeply of Him are cleansed and refreshed.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Jesus is without sin, but we are not.

Are you living with hidden sin, compromise, or a dismissive attitude toward holiness?

He calls you to repentance today, not to condemn, but to restore, cleanse, and renew.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Ask God to search your heart.

Confess every known and hidden sin.

Surrender every lingering desire that does not reflect His nature.

Seek His holiness and power to walk blameless before Him.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Holy Father,

I acknowledge that I have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed.

Thank You for sending Jesus, the spotless Lamb, to take away my sin.

Forgive me, cleanse me, and renew my heart.

I turn away from sin and run into Your holy light.

Help me to walk in purity, empowered by Your Spirit.

I receive Your grace today.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN

Man of Sorrows! What a Name
Philip P. Bliss (1875)

1. Man of sorrows what a name
for the Son of God, who came
ruined sinners to reclaim:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

2. Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
in my place condemned He stood,
sealed my pardon with His blood:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

3. Guilty, helpless, lost were we;
blameless Lamb of God was He,
sacrificed to set us free:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

4. He was lifted up to die;
"It is finished" was His cry;
now in heaven exalted high:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

5. When He comes, our glorious King,
all His ransomed home to bring,
then anew this song we'll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Take time to meditate on Hebrews 4:15.

Reflect on how Jesus faced temptation and remained sinless.

Identify one area of temptation in your life, and ask Jesus, the conquering Savior, to help you stand firm and walk in victory today.

DEEP REFLECTION

Jesus is not only our example, He is our enabler.

The same power that kept Him sinless is now available to you by the Holy Spirit.

Your victory over sin is not about trying harder, it's about abiding deeper in Him.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

You are not a slave to sin.

You are a child bought by the blood of the Sinless One.

The same Jesus who lived perfectly now lives in you, giving you power to overcome every temptation and rise above every fall.

His grace is sufficient.

His Spirit is available.

His victory is yours.
