THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Oct 16th, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
WHOEVER DENIES THE SON DOES NOT HAVE THE FATHER EITHER
KEY VERSE:
“No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” – 1 John 2:23 (NIV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
This scripture boldly declares that Jesus Christ is the exclusive link between humanity and God the Father.
There is no access to the Father apart from the Son (John 14:6).
To deny the Son, whether by words, actions, or unbelief, is to reject the very presence, mercy, and relationship of God Himself.
Denying the Son is not only saying “I don’t believe in Jesus.”
It includes living as though His sacrifice, commands, and lordship do not matter.
Many acknowledge God generally but refuse to accept Christ specifically.
Yet, Scripture makes it plain:
There is salvation in no one else (Acts 4:12).
To confess Christ is to embrace the fullness of God’s love, truth, and eternal life.
To deny Him is to walk in darkness, separation, and spiritual death.
The Father’s heart is revealed through the Son, rejecting Jesus means rejecting God’s revelation, His mercy, and His covenant grace.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO ACKNOWLEDGE THE SON
-
They Confess Jesus as Lord – (Romans 10:9-10) Their faith is public and sincere.
-
They Abide in the Truth – (1 John 2:24) They hold fast to the original gospel.
-
They Love the Father and the Son – (John 14:21-23) Love is shown through obedience.
-
They Walk in Light – (1 John 1:7) The truth of Christ guides their life.
-
They Bear Spiritual Fruit – (John 15:5) Their relationship with Christ produces righteousness.
-
They Overcome the World – (1 John 5:4-5) Faith in Jesus gives them victory.
-
They Are Bold Witnesses – (Matthew 10:32-33) They publicly declare Christ without shame.
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Broken Bridge
A traveler came to a wide river.
There was a single bridge across it, built by a master engineer.
Some tried to swim across by their own strength but drowned.
The traveler trusted the bridge and crossed safely.
Lesson: Jesus is the only bridge between God and man.
To reject Him is to fall into destruction; to trust Him is to cross into life. (John 14:6)
2. The King’s Gate
A great king built a city with only one golden gate.
Anyone who entered through it became a citizen of the kingdom.
But some refused, claiming they could find another entrance.
They wandered and perished outside the walls.
Lesson: Jesus is the one true gate to the Father (John 10:9).
To deny Him is to deny access to the kingdom of God.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, have you been walking in partial belief, acknowledging God but neglecting Jesus Christ?
Have you confessed Him with your lips but denied Him through your lifestyle?
Today, turn back.
The Son is the door to the Father’s heart.
Repent while mercy still speaks.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Let this not be a casual prayer.
Kneel before your Maker and cry out:
Lord, I have claimed to know You but have denied You in ways I acted, spoke, and lived.
Forgive me for dishonoring Your Son.
Wash me by the blood of Jesus and restore me into right fellowship with You.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
I come before You in humility and truth.
Forgive me for every way I have denied Your Son, through unbelief, disobedience, or compromise.
I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Your Son, my Savior, and my Lord.
I accept His sacrifice, confess His name, and yield my life completely to Him.
Let Your Spirit bear witness in me that I am Yours forever.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
Jesus Is All the World to Me
Will L. Thompson (1904)
1. Jesus is all the world to me,
My life, my joy, my all;
He is my strength from day to day,
Without Him I would fall:
When I am sad, to Him I go,
No other one can cheer me so;
When I am sad, He makes me glad,
He's my friend.
2. Jesus is all the world to me,
My friend in trials sore;
I go to Him for blessings, and
He gives them o'er and o'er:
He sends the sunshine and the rain,
He sends the harvest's golden grain;
Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain,
He's my friend.
3. Jesus is all the world to me,
And true to Him I'll be;
Oh, how could I this friend deny,
When He's so true to me?
Following Him I know I'm right,
He watches o'er me day and night;
Following Him by day and night,
He's my friend.
4. Jesus is all the world to me,
I want no better friend;
I trust Him now, I'll trust Him when
Life's fleeting days shall end:
Beautiful life with such a friend,
Beautiful life that has no end;
Eternal life, eternal joy,
He's my friend.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Boldly declare your allegiance to Jesus today.
Share His name with someone, post a verse that exalts Him, or forgive someone as He has forgiven you.
Let your words and actions confess Christ openly.
DEEP REFLECTION
To deny Jesus is to live as though His blood means nothing.
To acknowledge Him is to honor heaven’s greatest gift.
The question today is:
Does your life publicly reveal the Christ you privately profess?
CLOSING DECLARATION
Jesus is my Lord, my Savior, and my King.
I confess Him before men, and I am not ashamed of His name.
The Father and the Son dwell in me through the Holy Spirit.
I will stand for Christ, live by His Word, and never deny Him.
I belong to God, and I am sealed for eternity in Jesus’ mighty name.
Amen.
