THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Oct 17th, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
HE WHO ACKNOWLEDGES THE SON HAS THE FATHER ALSO
KEY VERSE
“Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” – 1 John 2:23 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
To acknowledge the Son means more than merely knowing about Jesus, it means accepting, honoring, obeying, and confessing Him as Lord and Savior.
Jesus Christ is not one of many ways to God; He is the only way (John 14:6).
Without acknowledging the Son, our claim to know God is empty, for the Father has chosen to reveal Himself only through the Son (Matthew 11:27).
The relationship between the Father and the Son is inseparable.
To reject Jesus is to reject the very nature, will, and presence of God.
The world seeks the Father without the Son, through religion, philosophy, or good works, but divine truth declares that fellowship with the Father is only through the Son.
To acknowledge Christ means to:
- Believe in His deity and Lordship.
- Confess Him openly before men (Matthew 10:32).
- Obey His Word and follow His example.
- Love Him above all else.
When you acknowledge Jesus, the Father acknowledges you.
But when you deny the Son by silence, sin, or compromise, you lose the intimacy and covering of the Father.
True worship begins with Jesus; true sonship is sealed through Him.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO ACKNOWLEDGE THE SON
- They Walk in Truth – (3 John 1:4) They live according to the teachings of Christ.
- They Possess Eternal Life – (John 3:36) Belief in the Son brings everlasting life.
- They Reflect the Father’s Nature – (John 14:9) To see them is to see the reflection of Christ.
- They Enjoy Fellowship with God – (1 John 1:3) Their relationship is rooted in divine communion.
- They Bear the Spirit’s Witness – (Romans 8:16) The Holy Spirit affirms their sonship.
- They Are Bold in Faith – (2 Timothy 1:12) They are unashamed of Christ before the world.
- They Overcome the World – (1 John 5:5) Their faith in the Son grants them victory over sin.
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The King’s Gate
A man once tried to enter a palace to see the king.
He brought gifts, performed rituals, and claimed knowledge of the king’s laws, but the guards stopped him.
You can’t see the king unless you come through his son, they said.
The man refused and was turned away.
Later, another man came, walking beside the prince.
The gate opened immediately, and he was received with joy.
Lesson: The only gate to the Father’s presence is through His Son.
Without Jesus, no one can enter the kingdom.
2. The Broken Chain
A father sent his only son to deliver a message to his workers.
Some received the son joyfully and obeyed his words.
Others mocked him and tore the letter he brought.
When the father heard, he rewarded those who honored his son but dismissed those who rejected him.
Lesson: Your response to Jesus determines your relationship with the Father.
To dishonor the Son is to sever your link to divine fellowship.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Many acknowledge Jesus with their lips but deny Him in their lifestyles, business ethics, or silence when His truth is mocked.
Today, the Lord calls you to genuine confession, not just words, but a surrendered life that honors the Son daily.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Cry out from your heart:
Lord, I have often claimed to know You while living in ways that deny You.
I have hidden my faith to please men, and I have neglected to proclaim You boldly.
Forgive me, Lord!
Restore my love and reverence for Your Son, that I may walk in truth and reflect Your glory.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, my Lord, my Savior, and my Redeemer.
Forgive me for every time I failed to honor Him with my words, my choices, or my witness.
Cleanse my heart from unbelief and compromise.
Lord Jesus, reign in my life as my Lord forever.
Through You, I have the Father, and through You, I am reconciled.
Thank You for mercy, grace, and truth.
In Your precious name, Amen.

HYMN
Jesus Is All the World to Me
Will L. Thompson, 1904
1. Jesus is all the world to me,
My life, my joy, my all;
He is my strength from day to day,
Without Him I would fall:
When I am sad, to Him I go,
No other one can cheer me so;
When I am sad, He makes me glad,
He's my friend.
2. Jesus is all the world to me,
My friend in trials sore;
I go to Him for blessings, and
He gives them o'er and o'er:
He sends the sunshine and the rain,
He sends the harvest's golden grain;
Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain,
He's my friend.
3. Jesus is all the world to me,
And true to Him I'll be;
Oh, how could I this friend deny,
When He's so true to me?
Following Him I know I'm right,
He watches o'er me day and night;
Following Him by day and night,
He's my friend.
4. Jesus is all the world to me,
I want no better friend;
I trust Him now, I'll trust Him when
Life's fleeting days shall end:
Beautiful life with such a friend,
Beautiful life that has no end;
Eternal life, eternal joy,
He's my friend..
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Publicly acknowledge Jesus today.
Speak about His goodness to someone, post a Scripture of faith, or share your testimony.
Do not be silent where Christ should be honored.
DEEP REFLECTION
To deny Christ is to deny your own spiritual DNA.
Every true child of God bears the likeness of the Son.
Ask yourself:
- Am I living as a bold witness of Christ, or
- Have I hidden my light out of fear or convenience?
CLOSING DECLARATION
I acknowledge Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior!
Through Him, I have the Father’s love, mercy, and eternal life.
The Son abides in me, and I abide in Him.
I will never be ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation.
The Father and the Son dwell in me, and I am complete in Him.
Amen!
