𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE
 TRUE LIGHT IS ALREADY SHINING!

KEY VERSE

“Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.”1 John 2:8 (NKJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The world is filled with shadows of confusion, sin, hopelessness and fear, but Jesus Christ is the True Light that pierces every darkness.

His coming broke the darkness of sin; His resurrection guaranteed that darkness can never overcome His light (John 1:5).

His presence brings revelation, guidance, healing, and hope.

When you allow Christ’s light to shine in your heart, you become a lamp that carries His radiance into every corner of your world.

When we walk with Him, we are no longer captives to sin or despair, we become reflections of His light to others.

Walking in that light means rejecting hatred, dishonesty, secret sin, and compromise. The more you draw near to Him, the brighter His glory will shine through you.

The light is not a promise for tomorrow; it is a reality now, “already shining.”

No matter how thick the darkness seems, the light of Christ is greater.

As we abide in Him, our lives become lamps through which others can see the way to life.

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Lighthouse Keeper

A lighthouse keeper trimmed his lamp every night, ensuring its light shone across the sea.

One stormy evening, a ship heading for the rocks saw the beam and turned to safety.

Lesson: Even in storms, the light of Christ is steady.

When you keep your focus on Him, you will not be shipwrecked.

2. The Candle in a Dark Room

A room was pitch black until someone lit a single candle.

Though small, the candle overcame the darkness.

Lesson: The light of Christ in you may seem small, but darkness can never overpower it.

Shine where you are!

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Have you allowed shadows of compromise, fear, or sin to dim your heart?

The true Light is already shining, return to Him!

Let His radiance cleanse and renew you.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Pause and search your heart.

Bring before God every hidden sin, every doubt, every place where you have chosen darkness over His light.

Lay them at the cross.

Ask Him to wash you and reignite His fire in your soul.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Lord Jesus

I confess that I have sometimes walked in shadows rather than Your glorious light.

Forgive me for every sin, every compromise, and every fear.

Cleanse me with Your precious blood.

Today I choose to step fully into Your light, to live in Your truth, love, and holiness.

Shine through me, Lord, that others may see You.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

HYMNS

Jesus Is Tenderly Calling You Home
~ Fanny J. Crosby, 1883

1. Jesus is tenderly calling you home,
Calling today, calling today,
Why from the sunshine of love will you roam
Farther and farther away?

Chorus:

Calling today, calling today,
Jesus is calling, is tenderly calling you home.

2. Jesus is calling the weary to rest
Calling today, calling today;
Bring Him thy burden and thou shalt
be blest
He will not turn thee away.

3. Jesus is waiting, O come to Him
now
Waiting today, waiting today;
Come with thy sins, at His feet lowly
bow
Come, and no longer delay.

4. Jesus is pleading, O list to His voice
Hear Him today, hear Him today;
They who believe on His name shall
rejoice
Quickly arise and away.

The Light of the World is Jesus
~ Philip P. Bliss (1875)

1. The whole world was lost in the darkness of sin;
The Light of the world is Jesus.
Like sunshine at noonday His glory shone in;
The Light of the world is Jesus.

Chorus:

Come to the Light; ’tis shining for thee.
Sweetly the Light has dawned upon me.
Once I was blind, but now I can see.
The Light of the world is Jesus.

2. No darkness have we who in Jesus abide;
The Light of the world is Jesus.
We walk in the light when we follow our Guide;
The Light of the world is Jesus.

3. Ye dwellers in darkness with sin-blinded eyes:
The Light of the world is Jesus.
Go, wash at His bidding, and light will arise;
The Light of the world is Jesus.

4. No need of the sunlight in heaven, we’re told;
The Light of the world is Jesus.
The Lamb is the Light in the city of gold;
The Light of the world is Jesus.
