𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE PEACE OF CHRIST THAT SUSTAINS AND STRENGTHENS ME
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE
"But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name." - 3 John 1:14 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Peace is one of God's greatest gifts to His children. It is more than the absence of conflict; it is the calm assurance that God is with me regardless of the circumstances surrounding my life. In 3 John 1:14, the Apostle John concluded his letter with the heartfelt blessing, "Peace be to thee." These simple words reveal God's desire for His children to live in His divine peace every day.
The peace Christ gives is unlike the temporary peace the world offers. The world's peace depends on favorable situations, financial stability, good health, or the absence of trouble. God's peace, however, remains steady even during trials because it is rooted in His unchanging presence and promises. When Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you" (John 14:27), He promised His followers an inner tranquility that no circumstance can destroy.
Many believers lose their peace because they allow fear, anxiety, disappointment, guilt, bitterness, or uncertainty to control their hearts. Yet God invites me to cast every care upon Him through prayer. As I surrender my worries to the Lord, His peace guards my heart and mind against fear and confusion.
True peace also comes through reconciliation with God. Sin robs the soul of peace, but repentance restores fellowship with the Father. A heart that walks in obedience enjoys the quiet confidence of God's presence. Therefore, if I desire lasting peace, I must continually walk in righteousness, forgive others, trust God's timing, and remain faithful to His Word.
God's peace also enables me to become a peacemaker. I am called to promote unity, forgive offences, speak words that build others up, and reflect Christ's love in my relationships. As I live under God's peace, I become an instrument of peace in my family, workplace, church, and community.
Today, let the words of the Apostle John become God's personal message to me: "Peace be to thee." Whatever battles I face, God's peace is available to strengthen, guide, and preserve me. His peace is greater than every storm, and His presence is greater than every fear.
