𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
ASSURANCE OF ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS
KEY VERSE:
"These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life..." - 1 John 5:13 (NKJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
This powerful declaration by Apostle John is not a suggestion, it is a divine assurance. God does not want believers to live in uncertainty, fear, or doubt about their salvation. The phrase “that you may know” reveals God's intention: certainty, confidence, and spiritual security.
Many believers struggle with doubt, guilt, or inconsistency, but this scripture anchors our faith, not in feelings, but in the finished work of Christ. Eternal life is not earned by works; it is received through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
This message corrects three dangerous misconceptions:
- Salvation is not based on emotions.
- Salvation is not sustained by human effort.
- Salvation is not uncertain for those who truly believe.
John wrote to establish assurance, stability, and boldness in believers. When you know you have eternal life:
- You live with purpose
- You overcome fear of death
- You walk in obedience, not confusion

HYMN
Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine
Author: Fanny J. Crosby
Composer: Phoebe Palmer Knapp
Theme: Confidence in salvation and joy in Christ.
1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long;
this is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.
2. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
angels descending, bring from above
echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
3. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
watching and waiting, looking above,
filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
