THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Apr 21st, 2026
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE SUPREME AUTHORITY OF GOD’S TESTIMONY
KEY VERSE
"If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son." - 1 John 5:9 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Human beings rely heavily on opinions, testimonies, and validations from others. Yet, Scripture confronts this mindset by elevating God’s testimony far above human reasoning. If we trust human witnesses, doctors, teachers, leaders, how much more should we trust the infallible witness of God?
God’s witness is perfect, eternal, and unchanging. It is not influenced by bias, emotion, or error. His testimony concerning His Son, Jesus Christ, is the foundation of salvation. Rejecting God’s witness is not mere doubt, it is a serious spiritual error that questions God’s truthfulness.
The believer is called to anchor faith not in feelings or public opinion, but in what God has declared. When God speaks, His word stands forever. Whether circumstances agree or not, His witness remains superior.
To live by God’s witness means:
- Trusting His Word above visible reality
- Accepting His verdict over human judgment
- Standing firm when others doubt
God has spoken concerning your identity, your salvation, and your future. The question is:
Whose report will you believe?

HYMN
Trust and Obey
John H. Sammis (lyrics) & Daniel B. Towner (music)
Message: A timeless hymn emphasizing complete trust in God’s Word above human understanding.
1. When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey,
for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.
2. Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3. But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4. Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.
