THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Mar 13th, 2026
πππππΌ:
AS HE IS, SO ARE WE: LIVING THE REALITY OF CHRIST’S NATURE
KEY VERSE
“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” — 1 John 4:17
“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” — 1 John 4:17
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
The statement “because as He is, so are we in this world” is one of the deepest revelations of the believer’s identity in Christ. It reveals that the believer is not merely trying to become like Christ someday; we are already positioned in His nature through salvation.
When a person receives Christ, something supernatural happens. The believer is spiritually united with Christ. Our standing before God is no longer determined by our past, weaknesses, or failures but by the righteousness and nature of Jesus Christ Himself.
Christ is:
And the Scripture boldly declares that “as He is, so are we in this world.”
This means:
- We share in His righteousness
- We share in His acceptance before the Father
- We share in His authority over darkness
- We share in His mission on earth
- We are called to reflect His character to the world
However, many believers live far below this reality. Instead of living in Christ’s nature, they live in fear, condemnation, insecurity, and spiritual defeat.
The purpose of this revelation is not pride but transformation. God calls believers to manifest the life of Christ in daily living.
The world should see Christ through the believer’s love, purity, humility, and righteousness.
This truth also prepares believers for eternity. When the day of judgment comes, believers will have boldness, not fear, because their identity is hidden in Christ.

ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Mirror and the King
A poor orphan boy was adopted by a king. Though he now lived in the palace, he still behaved like a beggar because he had not accepted his new identity.
One day the king brought him before a mirror and said:
"Look at yourself. You are no longer an orphan; you are a prince."
Lesson
Many believers live like spiritual beggars even though they are sons of the King.
2. The Ambassador Abroad
An ambassador represents his country in a foreign land. His authority is not personal—it comes from the nation he represents.
Lesson
Believers represent Christ on earth. Our lives should reflect His authority, values, and character.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Many believers claim Christ but do not live like Him.
There may be hidden sins, compromise, bitterness, pride, or spiritual laziness.
God calls us today to return to the life that reflects Christ.
DEEP REPENTANCE
True repentance means:
- Turning away from sin
- Surrendering pride
- Yielding completely to Christ
- Allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our lives
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Lord Jesus,
I acknowledge that many times I have lived below the identity You gave me.
Forgive my sins, my compromises, and every way I have misrepresented You.
Cleanse my heart.
Renew my mind.
Transform my life so that I may truly reflect Your nature.
From today, I surrender completely to Your Lordship.
Make me a true reflection of Christ in this world.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
Take My Life and Let It Be
Frances Ridley Havergal (1874)
Theme: Total consecration to God.
This hymn calls believers to fully surrender their lives so Christ can be reflected through them.
1. Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2. Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
3. Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4. Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5. Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
6. Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Today, consciously ask yourself:
“Does my life truly reflect Christ?”
Choose one area, speech, attitude, relationships, or decisions, and commit to representing Christ faithfully.
