WE ARE OF GOD!
KEY VERSE
We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. - 1 John 4:6 NKJV
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
To say “We are of God” is to declare identity, ownership, purpose, and spiritual authority.
It is a heavenly verdict over everyone born of God through Christ Jesus.
This simple yet profound truth determines how we live, think, speak, and overcome the world.
1 John 4:4 says,
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
Being “of God” means we originate from Him, belong to Him, and operate by His power, nature, and Spirit.
It means we are not ordinary, not victims, not abandoned, not helpless, not confused, and never without hope.
When trials rise, we remember:
Our source is God.
Our strength is God.
Our victory is God.
Our identity is God.
Our destiny is God.
Therefore, nothing in this world is permitted to overpower the one whose root and life are hidden in God.
Standing on this truth transforms fear into faith, weakness into strength, and confusion into divine direction.
Living with the consciousness that “We are of God” repositions us from earthly limitation to supernatural dominion.
BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES
To understand our identity as children of God (1 John 3:1).
To know our spiritual origin in Christ (John 1:12–13).
To embrace the authority we have in God (Luke 10:19).

CHARACTERISTICS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE “OF GOD”
They walk in truth – 3 John 1:4

They follow the voice of the Shepherd – John 10:27
They shine as light in darkness – Matt. 5:14
They walk by faith – 2 Cor. 5:7
They live by the Spirit – Gal. 5:25
They manifest divine wisdom – James 3:17
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Lamp Connected to the Source
A lamp may look beautiful, polished, and well-designed, but without connection to electricity it remains dark.
Once connected, its purpose becomes visible.
Lesson:
Our identity, strength, and purpose flow from our spiritual Source.
Without God, activity has no power; with God, power produces purpose.
2 The Eagle in the Storm
While other birds flee from storms, the eagle turns toward the wind, using its force to rise higher.
Lesson:
People who are of God don’t run from challenges.
They rise through them because God’s nature empowers them.
Storms become platforms for elevation.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, to be “of God” is not automatic, it begins with surrendering your life fully to Christ.
God calls you today to return to Him, leave the path of sin, and embrace the identity He designed for you.
Nothing in this world can replace the joy, peace, and strength found in God.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Let your heart speak truthfully:
“Lord, I have wandered in my own strength.
I have drifted from Your purpose.
I surrender my heart, my habits, my desires, and my future.
Cleanse me deeply and restore me fully.”
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
“Father,
I come in humility.
I confess my sins and turn away from everything that separates me from You.
Wash me with the blood of Jesus.
Make me Your own.
Renew my heart, fill me with Your Spirit, and help me live as one who truly belongs to You.

Live today knowing you are not alone, you are of God!
