THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Jan 9th, 2026
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
WE HAVE COURAGE IN GOD’S PRESENCE!
KEY VERSE:
“The LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” — Psalm 27:1
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the strength that rises when fear meets the Presence of God.
Scripture reveals that true courage flows from who God is and where we stand, in Him.
When God’s presence surrounds us, fear loses its authority.
Moses faced Pharaoh with courage because God went with him.
Joshua crossed into uncertainty because God promised His presence.
The early church spoke boldly because the Spirit filled them.
God’s presence assures us of:
- Identity (I am with you),
- Authority (I will fight for you), and
- Destiny (I will accomplish My purpose through you).
Therefore, courage is not self-generated confidence; it is God-conscious boldness.
When we abide in His presence,

Return to Him!
Deep Repentance
Lord, we confess that we have often feared:
- men more than You,
- circumstances more than Your promises, and
- outcomes more than obedience.
Forgive us for shrinking back when You called us to stand.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
Father,
I repent of every fear-driven decision, every silent compromise, and every moment I forgot Your presence.
Cleanse my heart, renew my courage, and restore bold faith in me, in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

HYMN
A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
Martin Luther (1529)
Message:
Declares God as our defender and source of courage amid spiritual battles.
1. A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing;
our helper he, amid the flood
of mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe
does seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great,
and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
2. Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the right Man on our side,
the Man of God's own choosing.
You ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabaoth his name,
from age to age the same;
and he must win the battle.
3. And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us,
we will not fear, for God has willed
his truth to triumph through us.
The prince of darkness grim,
we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure,
for lo! his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.
4. That Word above all earthly powers
no thanks to them abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours
through him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go,
this mortal life also;
the body they may kill:
God's truth abideth still;
his kingdom is forever!
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Step into one situation today that fear has delayed, pray first, then act in faith, consciously aware of God’s presence.
DEEP REFLECTION
Ask yourself:
Am I more aware of my challenges or of God’s nearness?
Courage grows where God-awareness is practiced daily.
