THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Nov 28th, 2025
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THAT HE MIGHT DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL!
KEY VERSE
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” — 1 John 3:8 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
From the beginning, Satan’s agenda has been clear:
His works manifest as sin, deception, bondage, fear, sickness, oppression, and rebellion against God.
But God, in His mercy, did not leave humanity helpless.
He sent His Son; the Light of the world; to undo, overthrow, dismantle, and utterly defeat every work of darkness.
Jesus did not come merely to expose evil;
He came to destroy it.
Through His birth, temptation, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus crushed the power of Satan and established eternal victory.
This victory is not theoretical; it is your inheritance as a believer.
Every area of your life still touched by darkness is an invitation for Christ’s victorious work to manifest.
The enemy’s works only thrive where truth is ignored.
But when Christ dwells in you, darkness loses its authority.
You are no longer a victim;
you are a victor because the Son has conquered the destroyer.

ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Broken Chains
A prisoner sat in a dark dungeon with chains tightly binding him.
The walls whispered hopelessness.
One day a King entered, struck the chains with His staff, and they shattered.
Yet the prisoner remained seated, afraid to move.
The King said:
You are free; walk out!
Lesson:
Christ has already broken the chains, but many remain seated in fear, guilt, and old habits.
2. The Destroyed Bridge
A village was terrorized by wild beasts that crossed into their land using an old wooden bridge.
One day, a warrior returned and burned the bridge completely.
The beasts could no longer cross.
But the villagers, out of fear, still acted as though danger was near.
Lesson:
Jesus has destroyed the bridge the enemy used to access your life.
Walk boldly; your enemy has been cut off at the root.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, any area of compromise, hidden sin, unbelief, or fear becomes a foothold for the enemy.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, but He invites you to surrender fully so His victory can manifest in you.
Return to the Lord; reject sin and darkness.
DEEP REPENTANCE
Lord, I confess every open door I have given the enemy; through sin, bitterness, fear, or disobedience.
I renounce every dark influence.
Cleanse me fully by Your blood.
Restore purity, holiness, and dominion in me.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
I come before You acknowledging my need for Your cleansing power.
Forgive every sin, every compromise, every foothold the enemy has exploited.
Wash me with Your blood and fill me with Your light.
Break every chain, destroy every work of darkness in my life, and make me wholly Yours.
From today, I walk in Your victory and authority.
Amen.

HYMN
Onward, Christian Soldiers
Sabine Baring-Gould (1865)
1. Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!
Christ, the royal Master,
leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
see His banner go!
Chorus:
Onward, Christian soldiers,
marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
going on before!
2. At the sign of triumph
Satan's host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
on to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver
at the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
loud your anthems raise!
3. Like a mighty army
moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
where the saints have trod;
We are not divided;
all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine,
one in charity.
4. Onward, then, ye people,
join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices
in the triumph song;
Glory, laud, and honor,
unto Christ the King;
This thro' countless ages
men and angels sing.
