THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
HE WHO DENIES THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST!
KEY VERSE
“Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son.” — 1 John 2:22 (NKJV)
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
The phrase “He who denies that Jesus is the Christ” refers not only to those who openly reject Jesus as the Messiah but also to anyone who subtly undermines His lordship through unbelief, compromise, or hypocrisy.
Denial is not limited to words, it can happen in attitude, conduct, and silence when truth is needed.
To deny that Jesus is the Christ is to reject His divine authority, redemptive mission, and exclusive claim as Savior and Lord.
It is to prefer self, tradition, or worldliness over divine truth.
In today’s world, denial takes many forms:
Intellectual pride that questions His divinity,
Cultural compromise that dilutes His teachings, and
Moral rebellion that refuses His lordship.
Yet, the truth stands unshaken, Jesus is the Christ, the anointed Son of the living God, the only way to the Father (John 14:6).
To confess Jesus as Christ is to acknowledge Him as the promised Redeemer, the fulfillment of prophecy, and the eternal King who reigns over heaven and earth.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO TRULY CONFESS JESUS AS THE CHRIST
- They Acknowledge His Deity – (John 1:1, 14) Jesus is the Word made flesh.
- They Obey His Commands – (John 14:15) Love is proven through obedience.
- They Confess Him Before Men – (Matthew 10:32) Bold confession brings divine acknowledgment.
- They Reject False Doctrines – (2 John 1:7-9) Truth abides only in those who hold to Christ’s teaching.
- They Walk in the Spirit – (Romans 8:9) Those who belong to Christ are led by His Spirit.
- They Endure Persecution – (2 Timothy 3:12) True followers stand firm despite opposition.
- They Bear the Fruit of Faith – (Galatians 5:22-23) The Word becomes visible through a godly life.
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Denied Identity
A soldier captured in enemy territory was asked, “Whose side are you on?”
Out of fear, he remained silent.
When his silence persisted, his captors labeled him as one of them.
Later, when his country’s troops rescued him, his silence had already caused suspicion and distrust.
Lesson: Silence in the face of truth is a form of denial.
When believers fail to speak of Christ or live by His truth, they indirectly deny Him.
2. The Signature Forged
A wealthy man gave his servant a signed document promising inheritance.
But the servant, thinking the paper worthless, tossed it away.
When the time came to claim the inheritance, he realized too late that the paper bore his master’s signature.
Lesson: To deny Jesus is to discard your eternal inheritance.
The name of Jesus carries the seal of eternal life; rejecting it means losing all that truly matters.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Have you denied Christ in words, thoughts, or actions?
Have you bowed to the pressures of the world and hidden your faith for fear of ridicule or rejection?
Have you doubted His authority or compromised His teachings?
Return today!
Jesus is merciful and ready to forgive.
The same Peter who denied Christ three times was later restored and filled with boldness (John 21:15–19).
DEEP REPENTANCE
Let your heart break before God.
Say within yourself:
Lord, I am guilty of silence, of fear, of compromise.
I have failed to honor You as Christ in some areas of my life.
Have mercy on me.
Restore my boldness, my faith, and my confession.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
I acknowledge my weakness and the times I have denied Jesus by my actions and silence.
Forgive me, Lord, for every moment I placed human approval above Your truth.
Wash me clean by the blood of Jesus.
I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.
Let Your Spirit fill me with courage, truth, and unwavering faith.
From this day forward, I will boldly stand for Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus
George Duffield Jr., 1858
1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner; It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry His army shall He lead,
Till ev’ry foe is vanquished, And
Christ is Lord indeed.
2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus! The
trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict. In this
His glorious day;
Ye that are men now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger, And
strength to strength oppose.
3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you. Ye
dare not trust your own;
Put on the gospel armour, Each
piece put on with prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger, Be
never wanting there.
4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus! The
strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle. The
next the victor’s song:
To Him that over cometh, A crown
of life shall be;
He with the King of glory Shall reign
eternally.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Be bold today!
Speak of Jesus to at least one person, a friend, a colleague, or even online.
Let your life and your lips bear witness that:
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
DEEP REFLECTION
Denial often begins subtly, silence when truth must be spoken, compromise when holiness is tested, or shame when faith is mocked.
Ask yourself:
Am I confessing Christ with my life? or
Denying Him through my choices?
CLOSING DECLARATION
I boldly declare that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God!
He is my Savior, my Redeemer, and my King.
I will never deny His name nor be ashamed of His truth.
My life, my voice, and my testimony will proclaim His lordship forever.
Amen.
