THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Jan 7th, 2026
𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
HE KNOWS EVERYTHING!
KEY VERSE
“Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite.” — Psalm 147:5
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
To say “He knows everything” is to confess the omniscience of God, that there is:
- Nothing hidden from Him,
- Nothing surprising to Him,
- Nothing unknown to Him.
God’s knowledge is not learned, researched, or improved.
It is eternal, perfect, and complete.
He knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).
He knows the thoughts before they are formed (Psalm 139:2).
He knows:
- What is spoken in secret,
- What is whispered in fear,
- What is hidden under religious appearance, and
- What lies buried in the conscience of men.
God knows:
Our motives beyond our actions
Our intentions beyond our words
Our future beyond our plans
This truth is both comforting and terrifying:
Comforting to the broken, because nothing about your pain is invisible.
Terrifying to the hypocrite, because nothing about your sin is concealed.
When we truly believe He knows everything, it changes how we:
Pray
Repent
Live
Speak
Obey
There is no pretending with God.
There is no editing your life before Him.
The highest wisdom is to live fully exposed yet fully surrendered before the God who already knows.
BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS TRUTH
To cultivate holy reverence for God (Proverbs 15:3)
To destroy hypocrisy and hidden sin (Luke 12:2)
To deepen sincerity in worship (John 4:24)
To strengthen trust in God’s plans (Romans 8:28)
To encourage transparency in prayer (Hebrews 4:13)
To promote repentance and humility (Psalm 51:6)
To silence fear of men (Matthew 10:26)
To build confidence in divine guidance (Psalm 139:16)
To correct self-deception (Jeremiah 17:9–10)
To prepare the soul for eternity (Ecclesiastes 12:14)
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE GOD WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING
ILLUSTRATIONS
1. The Sealed Letter
A man sealed a letter and hid it in a safe, confident no one could read it.
Years later, the seal was broken, and every word was revealed in court.
Lesson:
What we hide today will be revealed tomorrow.
God does not wait to know, it is we who delay acknowledging.
2. The Clean Cup
Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for cleaning the outside of the cup while inside was full of corruption (Matthew 23:25).
Lesson:
External righteousness without internal truth is spiritual deception.
God inspects the inside first.
CALL TO REPENTANCE
Beloved, God already knows.
Your silence does not conceal.
Your delay does not confuse Him.
Your excuses do not persuade Him.
The safest place on earth is total surrender before an all-knowing God.
DEEP REPENTANCE (SELF-EXAMINATION)
Where have I been pretending spiritually?
What sin am I managing instead of mortifying?
What truth have I resisted because it exposes me?
Where have I trusted my wisdom above God’s?
“Search me, O God, and know my heart…” — Psalm 139:23
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE
O Lord my God,
You know my heart completely.
Nothing is hidden from You.
I confess my sins, both known and unknown.
Cleanse me from secret faults.
Wash me thoroughly by the blood of Jesus.
Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
I surrender every hidden place to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HYMN
I Need Thee Every Hour
Annie S. Hawks (1872)
Robert Lowry
Why this hymn?
It acknowledges our complete dependence on a God who knows our need before we speak.
1. I need Thee ev'ry hour,
most gracious Lord;
no tender voice like Thine
can peace afford.
Refrain:
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
ev'ry hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
2. I need Thee ev'ry hour,
stay Thou nearby;
temptations lose their pow'r
when Thou art nigh.
3. I need Thee ev'ry hour,
in joy or pain;
come quickly and abide,
or life is vain.
4. I need Thee ev'ry hour,
teach me Thy will;
and Thy rich promises
in me fulfill.
5. I need Thee ev'ry hour,
most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE
Live today as though every thought, word, and motive is fully visible before God, because it is.
DEEP REFLECTION
If God were to answer your prayers exactly as you live privately, what would change?
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Take heart,
The God who knows your worst still invites you closer.
His knowledge does not repel love; it perfects it.
ETERNITY IN VIEW
One day, books will be opened.
Not opinions.
Not excuses.
Truth.
Prepare now.
Live exposed.
Die forgiven.

I live before God who knows everything.
