𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
BECOMING FELLOW WORKERS FOR THE TRUTH

Anchor Scripture

"We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth." — 3 John 1:8 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Apostle John wrote to Gaius, commending him for his generosity and hospitality toward faithful ministers of the gospel. These servants had gone out "for His name's sake," refusing financial support from unbelievers (3 John 1:7). John therefore encouraged believers to support such workers so that they themselves would become fellow workers for the truth.

God's work is never meant to be carried by one person alone. Every believer has a role in advancing the Kingdom of God. While some preach, others pray. While some evangelize publicly, others support missionaries, encourage ministers, give financially, teach, disciple new converts, or use their gifts to strengthen the Church. Every genuine contribution made for Christ becomes a partnership with heaven.

Being a fellow worker for the truth means more than attending church services. It means deliberately aligning your life, resources, influence, abilities, prayers, time, and testimony with God's eternal purpose. It means refusing to support falsehood while actively promoting biblical truth in every sphere of life.

Truth is under constant attack in today's world. False doctrines, compromise, moral corruption, deception, and worldliness seek to weaken the Church. God is calling believers who will boldly defend His Word through holy living, faithful service, generous giving, fervent prayer, compassionate love, and unwavering commitment to Christ.

The question for personal reflection is: Am I merely benefiting from God's Kingdom, or am I actively building it?

Every believer will one day stand before Christ to give an account of his stewardship (Romans 14:12). Those who faithfully labour with Christ will receive eternal rewards.

Today, determine to become a true fellow worker for the truth.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand God's call to partner in His Kingdom.
  2. To develop unwavering commitment to biblical truth.
  3. To support faithful ministers of the gospel.
  4. To become a faithful steward of God's resources.
  5. To grow in Christian hospitality.
  6. To participate actively in evangelism.
  7. To encourage and strengthen fellow believers.
  8. To reject compromise and false doctrine.
  9. To live a life worthy of Christ's calling.
  10. To seek eternal rewards rather than earthly recognition.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A FELLOW WORKER FOR THE TRUTH

  1. Loves God's Word (Psalm 119:97).
  2. Walks in truth (3 John 1:4).
  3. Serves faithfully (1 Corinthians 4:2).
  4. Supports gospel ministry (Philippians 4:15-17).
  5. Lives sacrificially (Romans 12:1).
  6. Shows hospitality (Hebrews 13:2).
  7. Prays continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
  8. Walks in love (John 13:35).
  9. Remains humble (Philippians 2:3).
  10. Perseveres until the end (Matthew 24:13).

  • God rewards collective faithfulness.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Ask yourself honestly:

Have I become a spectator instead of a servant?

Have I neglected God's work while pursuing only personal ambitions?

Have I withheld my gifts, time, finances, or prayers from advancing God's Kingdom?

Today is the day to surrender fully to Christ's service.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Lord Jesus, I confess that I have not always served You wholeheartedly. I have sometimes allowed comfort, fear, selfishness, distractions, and worldly pursuits to limit my usefulness in Your Kingdom. Forgive my spiritual laziness, indifference, and lack of commitment. Remove every selfish desire that competes with Your purpose. Make me a faithful labourer who brings glory to Your name.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father, I repent of every act of disobedience, negligence, and complacency. Wash me thoroughly by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit. Let my life become an instrument for advancing Your truth. Help me to remain faithful until the very end. In Jesus' name. Amen.

RECEIVING AND SUPPORTING GOD'S TRUE SERVANTS

THE WORDS OF TRUTH
DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
RECEIVING AND SUPPORTING GOD'S TRUE SERVANTS

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:

"We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth." - 3 John 1:8 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION

Key Thought: Every believer is called not only to preach the Gospel but also to support those who faithfully carry the Gospel. When we receive, encourage, pray for, and provide for God's genuine servants, we become partners in advancing His kingdom.

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Apostle John wrote his third epistle to commend Gaius for his hospitality toward faithful Christian workers. During the early Church, evangelists and missionaries often travelled without financial support from unbelievers. They depended on the generosity of fellow believers who welcomed them into their homes, cared for their needs, and strengthened them for ministry.

John therefore declared, "We therefore ought to receive such." The word "ought" signifies a sacred obligation rather than a mere suggestion. Supporting God's servants is a Christian responsibility. Those who faithfully preach Christ deserve love, honour, encouragement, prayers, and practical assistance.

Receiving God's servants is more than offering accommodation. It includes welcoming their message, appreciating their sacrifices, standing with them during trials, contributing to the work of God, praying for them consistently, and refusing to participate in criticism or discouragement against faithful ministers.

However, believers must also exercise spiritual discernment. The Bible does not encourage blind support of false teachers or deceivers. We are commanded to test every spirit (1 John 4:1), examine teachings according to Scripture (Acts 17:11), and support only those who faithfully proclaim the truth of Christ.

When we become partners with God's faithful servants, heaven records us as "fellowhelpers to the truth." Though everyone may not stand behind the pulpit, every believer can participate in God's mission through prayers, giving, encouragement, hospitality, and faithful service.

God never overlooks those who strengthen His work. Every act of kindness shown toward His servants is remembered by Him and rewarded both now and in eternity.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand the importance of supporting faithful ministers of Christ (3 John 1:8).
  2. To develop genuine Christian hospitality (Romans 12:13).
  3. To become a partner in spreading the Gospel (Philippians 1:5).
  4. To encourage God's servants through prayers and generosity (Galatians 6:6).
  5. To distinguish true servants from false teachers (1 John 4:1).
  6. To honour those who labour faithfully in ministry (1 Timothy 5:17).
  7. To cultivate sacrificial giving toward God's work (2 Corinthians 9:7).
  8. To strengthen unity within Christ's body (Ephesians 4:3).
  9. To invest in eternal rewards through kingdom service (Matthew 6:20).
  10. To become a faithful helper of God's truth until Christ returns (Matthew 28:19-20).

CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO RECEIVE GOD'S TRUE SERVANTS

  1. They love God's Word (Psalm 119:97).
  2. They are hospitable (Hebrews 13:2).
  3. They are generous (Proverbs 11:25).
  4. They possess spiritual discernment (1 John 4:1).
  5. They honour faithful leaders (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13).
  6. They encourage others (Hebrews 10:24-25).
  7. They pray consistently (Ephesians 6:18).
  8. They serve humbly (Mark 10:45).
  9. They remain faithful despite opposition (Revelation 2:10).
  10. They seek eternal rewards above earthly recognition (Colossians 3:23-24).

THE HEART OF SELFLESS KINGDOM SERVICE

THE WORDS OF TRUTH
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
July 16th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE HEART OF SELFLESS KINGDOM SERVICE

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE

"Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles." - 3 John 1:7 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Apostle John commended faithful ministers who traveled to preach the Gospel "for His Name's sake," refusing to depend on unbelievers for financial support. Their confidence rested entirely on God's provision through His people. This demonstrated integrity, faith, contentment, and a commitment to preserve the credibility of the Gospel.

The phrase "taking nothing from the Gentiles" does not suggest that believers should never engage in business with unbelievers or reject every form of assistance from non-Christians. Rather, it emphasizes that God's work should never be compromised by dependence on people who neither know nor honor Christ. The servants of God refused support that could influence, manipulate, or corrupt the message they preached.

Today's believers must learn that God's kingdom is sustained by God's provision. When financial gain becomes the motivation for ministry, compromise often follows. Ministers and believers alike must avoid altering biblical truth to gain popularity, sponsorship, political favor, or worldly acceptance.

The Christian life is built upon complete dependence on God's faithfulness. God remains the Provider of those who faithfully serve Him. Whether in ministry, career, business, or family life, our confidence should rest in God's unfailing provision rather than worldly systems.

The greatest reward for serving Christ is not earthly wealth but eternal approval from the Master who said, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To cultivate complete dependence upon God.
  2. To preserve integrity in Christian service.
  3. To serve Christ for His glory alone.
  4. To reject every form of compromise.
  5. To strengthen faith in God's provision.
  6. To maintain holiness in ministry.
  7. To glorify Christ through selfless service.
  8. To encourage faithful stewardship.
  9. To separate kingdom priorities from worldly ambitions.
  10. To prepare believers for eternal rewards.

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO TAKE NOTHING FOR SELFISH GAIN

  1. They trust God completely (Psalm 37:5).
  2. They serve out of love (John 21:15-17).
  3. They live contentedly (Philippians 4:11-13).
  4. They possess integrity (Proverbs 11:3).
  5. They walk by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7).
  6. They are generous (Acts 20:35).
  7. They remain humble (Philippians 2:3-5).
  8. They seek God's glory (Matthew 5:16).
  9. They endure hardship (2 Timothy 2:3).
  10. They look toward eternal rewards (Matthew 6:19-21).

LIVING A LIFE OF SACRIFICIAL MISSION

THE WORDS OF TRUTH
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
July 15th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
LIVING A LIFE OF SACRIFICIAL MISSION

KEY VERSE

"Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles." - 3 John 1:7 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Christian life is a life of divine purpose. God never saved His people merely to enjoy His blessings but also to represent His Kingdom on earth. The believers commended by the Apostle John were missionaries and gospel workers who willingly left their comfort, families, careers, and possessions to proclaim Jesus Christ. They were motivated neither by financial gain nor personal recognition but by one supreme passion, the glory of the Name of Jesus Christ.

The phrase "for His Name's sake" reveals the highest motivation for Christian service. They did not go because it was convenient. They did not go because people applauded them. They went because Jesus deserved to be known among the nations.

Today, God still seeks men and women who will go for His Name's sake. Some are called to preach across nations, while others are called to evangelize in their communities, workplaces, schools, and families. Every believer has a divine assignment to make Christ known.

Living for Christ requires sacrifice. It may involve rejection, misunderstanding, persecution, financial inconvenience, or giving up personal ambitions. Yet no sacrifice made for Christ is ever wasted. Heaven records every act of faithful service.

Unfortunately, many believers seek comfort more than commitment. Some desire the blessings of God without embracing His mission. Others are willing to identify with Christ only when it attracts honor and popularity. Such discipleship falls short of biblical Christianity.

The Name of Jesus remains the only Name through which salvation is offered to mankind. Therefore, every believer should consider it a privilege to carry that Name wherever God sends them.

Let your life answer this question:

Am I living for my own name, or am I living for His Name's sake?

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To exalt the Name of Jesus above every earthly ambition.
  2. To understand God's missionary heart.
  3. To develop unwavering commitment to Christ.
  4. To become bold in soul-winning.
  5. To serve God without selfish motives.
  6. To embrace sacrifice for the Gospel.
  7. To depend upon God's provision.
  8. To endure hardship joyfully for Christ.
  9. To influence others toward eternal life.
  10. To finish life's assignment faithfully.

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO GO FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE

  1. They love Christ above everything else (Luke 14:26-27).
  2. They obey God's call immediately (Isaiah 6:8).
  3. They possess courage (Joshua 1:9).
  4. They trust God's provision (Matthew 6:33).
  5. They preach truth faithfully (2 Timothy 4:2).
  6. They endure persecution (2 Timothy 3:12).
  7. They live holy lives (1 Peter 1:15-16).
  8. They serve humbly (Mark 10:45).
  9. They persevere until the end (Matthew 24:13).
  10. They seek eternal rewards rather than earthly applause (Matthew 6:19-21).

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Ambassador Who Never Changed His Message

A faithful ambassador represents his king regardless of the country he visits. He never alters the king's message to gain acceptance.

Lesson: Every believer is Christ's ambassador. Our assignment is faithfulness, not popularity.

2. The Burning Candle

A candle gives light by consuming itself. Though it gradually melts, it fulfills its purpose by illuminating darkness.

Lesson: A life spent serving Christ is never wasted. True greatness is measured by faithful service.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Examine your heart honestly. Have you become comfortable while neglecting Christ's mission? Have fear, laziness, or worldly ambitions silenced your witness? Jesus deserves your wholehearted devotion. Return to Him today with sincere repentance.

PERSONAL DEEP REPENTANCE

Lord Jesus, I confess that many times I have pursued my own comfort more than Your Kingdom. I have remained silent when I should have spoken. I have sought acceptance instead of faithfulness. Forgive me for every act of spiritual negligence. Rekindle within me a burning passion for Your Name. Let my life become a testimony that brings glory to You alone.

PERSONAL PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father, I repent of every selfish ambition and every fear that has hindered my obedience. Wash me by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Remove every love for the world from my heart. Fill me afresh with the Holy Spirit and empower me to live boldly for Christ every day. May my life bring honor to the Name of Jesus until the very end. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Thou from hence my all shalt be.
Perish, ev'ry fond ambition,
All I've sought, and hop'd, and known;
Yet how rich is my condition;
God and Heav'n are still my own!.

Share the Gospel with at least one person today. Pray intentionally for missionaries and Christian workers. Ask God to show you one practical way to advance His Kingdom this week.

WALKING IN THE TRUTH THAT PRODUCES A FAITHFUL TESTIMONY

THE WORDS OF TRUTH
DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
WALKING IN THE TRUTH THAT PRODUCES A FAITHFUL TESTIMONY

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE

"Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well." - 3 John 1:6 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The expression "thou shalt do well" is a divine commendation. It reveals that true success in God's Kingdom is measured by faithful obedience, genuine love, generous service, and unwavering commitment to the truth. The Apostle John encouraged Gaius to continue supporting faithful ministers of God because such service pleased the Lord.

In today's world, many pursue recognition, wealth, influence, and worldly achievements while neglecting God's standards. Yet Scripture teaches that doing well begins with walking in truth, loving God's people, serving with humility, and remaining faithful regardless of whether people applaud or criticize you.

Doing well is not merely achieving financial success or occupying a prestigious position. It means fulfilling God's assignment with integrity. A person who obeys God in private, speaks truth, loves sincerely, forgives readily, gives generously, and remains faithful in difficult seasons is already doing well in Heaven's record.

God notices every act of kindness, every sacrifice, every prayer offered in secret, every soul won, every temptation resisted, and every faithful service rendered without seeking human praise.

When you consistently live according to God's Word, your testimony becomes a blessing to others. Your life begins to preach louder than your words. God Himself becomes your Defender, Provider, Promoter, and Rewarder.

Today, examine your heart. Are you seeking God's approval or man's applause? Are you investing in eternity or merely pursuing temporary achievements? Continue walking in truth, for everyone who faithfully serves Christ according to His will will do well.

HONOURING GOD BY SUPPORTING HIS SERVANTS AND HIS WORK

THE WORDS OF TRUTH
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
July 13th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
HONOURING GOD BY SUPPORTING HIS SERVANTS AND HIS WORK

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:

"Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well." (KJV) - 3 John 1:6

INTRODUCTION

This verse teaches that believers should support God's servants spiritually, materially, emotionally, and practically as they advance the work of the Gospel. Such generosity is not merely kindness to people but an act of worship that honours God Himself.

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Christian life is not designed to be lived in isolation. God has established His kingdom through faithful men and women who preach the Gospel, disciple believers, care for the needy, and spread His truth across nations. These servants often depend on the love, generosity, hospitality, and encouragement of fellow believers.

In 3 John 1:6, the Apostle John commended Gaius because he supported travelling ministers "in a manner worthy of God." This means his service reflected God's own love, generosity, excellence, and compassion. He did not help carelessly or reluctantly but joyfully and honourably.

Supporting God's work involves much more than financial giving. It includes praying for ministers, showing hospitality, encouraging missionaries, serving faithfully in the local church, providing resources, protecting the unity of the church, and using one's gifts to advance God's kingdom.

God notices every sincere act done for His kingdom. Jesus declared that even giving a cup of cold water in His name will not lose its reward (Matthew 10:42). Every believer therefore has a divine responsibility to become a kingdom partner rather than a passive observer.

Conversely, Scripture warns against selfishness, neglect of God's servants, and opposition to kingdom work. Those who refuse to support God's work often miss opportunities for eternal rewards.

As believers, our lives should continually ask:

  • Am I helping God's work move forward, or am I hindering it?

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand God's expectation concerning kingdom partnership.
  2. To develop genuine love for God's servants.
  3. To cultivate generosity toward the Gospel.
  4. To practice Christian hospitality.
  5. To become a faithful steward of God's resources.
  6. To encourage ministers of the Gospel.
  7. To participate actively in evangelism and missions.
  8. To store treasures in heaven.
  9. To glorify God through practical service.
  10. To receive eternal rewards for faithful kingdom service.

BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THOSE WHO SUPPORT GOD'S WORK

  1. They love sincerely (3 John 1:5–6).
  2. They are generous (2 Corinthians 9:7).
  3. They are hospitable (Romans 12:13).
  4. They are compassionate (Hebrews 13:2).
  5. They are faithful stewards (1 Corinthians 4:2).
  6. They are cheerful givers (2 Corinthians 9:6–8).
  7. They seek God's glory above personal recognition (Matthew 6:1–4).
  8. They encourage fellow believers (Hebrews 10:24–25).
  9. They invest in eternity (Matthew 6:19–21).
  10. They obey God's commands wholeheartedly (James 1:22).

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Faithful Church That Sent Missionaries

The church at Antioch prayed, fasted, commissioned, and supported Barnabas and Saul before sending them on missionary journeys (Acts 13:1–3). Their support became the foundation for the spread of Christianity across many nations.

Lessons

  • Great missions require faithful supporters.
  • Prayer and generosity sustain ministry.
  • God blesses churches that invest in His kingdom.

2. The Widow Who Gave Her All

Jesus observed a poor widow giving two small coins into the temple treasury. Though her gift was small in value, it was great in God's sight because it came from sincere sacrifice (Mark 12:41–44).

Lessons

  • God values the heart more than the amount.
  • Sacrificial giving pleases God.
  • Every believer can contribute meaningfully.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

If you have neglected God's work, criticized faithful servants, withheld help out of selfishness, or lived only for personal comfort, return to the Lord today. Ask Him to give you a generous and kingdom-focused heart.

PERSONAL DEEP REPENTANCE

Lord, I confess that I have often focused more on my own interests than on Your kingdom. Forgive every act of selfishness, indifference, pride, and neglect. Cleanse my heart and make me a faithful partner in advancing Your Gospel.

PERSONAL PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father, I repent of every failure to support Your work according to Your will. Forgive my disobedience, my lack of compassion, and my unwillingness to serve wholeheartedly. Fill me with Your love, generosity, and passion for souls. Let my life become a blessing to Your servants and Your kingdom. In Jesus' name. Amen.

  10. May I finish my Christian race faithfully and receive an eternal reward, in the name of Jesus.

THE TESTIMONY OF CHRISTIAN LOVE BEFORE THE CHURCH

THE WORDS OF TRUTH
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
July 12th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
THE TESTIMONY OF CHRISTIAN LOVE BEFORE THE CHURCH

Anchor Scripture:

"Who have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well."3 John 1:6 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The Apostle John the Apostle wrote this letter to Gaius, a faithful believer whose life of love and generosity had become a testimony among God's people. The brethren who had benefited from his kindness returned to the church and publicly testified about his love, hospitality, and faithfulness.

This passage teaches that genuine Christianity is not merely professed with the mouth; it is demonstrated through practical love. True love leaves evidence. It is seen in how we treat fellow believers, strangers, the needy, and those engaged in God's work.

The love that God approves is not selective, self-seeking, or temporary. It is sacrificial, sincere, and Christ-centered. The church witnessed Gaius' love because he consistently demonstrated it through actions. His testimony was not built on eloquent speeches but on visible deeds of kindness.

Many believers desire a great reputation before men, but heaven values a testimony of love. The church can testify about our attendance, gifts, talents, or positions, but can it testify about our love? Can people bear witness that we have encouraged the discouraged, supported missions, helped the needy, forgiven offenders, and reflected Christ's compassion?

The greatest evidence of spiritual maturity is not knowledge, titles, or positions but genuine love. Love is the atmosphere of heaven and the distinguishing mark of Christ's disciples.

Our Lord Jesus Christ declared that all men would know His disciples by their love for one another. Therefore, every believer should strive to live such a life that others can honestly testify concerning their love before the church and before God.

May our lives become living epistles, proclaiming the love of Christ wherever we go.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES

  1. To understand that Christian love is practical and visible.
