GOD HAS SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON INTO THE WORLD!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 16th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
GOD HAS SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON INTO THE WORLD!

KEY VERSE

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.” — 1 John 4:9 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The greatest proof of God’s love is not wealth, breakthroughs, or long life, but the sending of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world.

This act was not ordinary, it was a divine intervention to rescue humanity from sin, darkness, and eternal separation from God.

God did not send an angel, a prophet, or a righteous man.

He sent His only begotten Son, the One who is eternally with Him.

This shows love at the highest possible dimension.

Jesus came not to condemn but to save.

He came to give us:

  • Life instead of death

  • Light instead of darkness

  • Grace instead of judgment

  • Access instead of separation

  • Hope instead of hopelessness

This message reminds us that salvation is God’s initiative, not man’s effort.

Redemption began in God’s heart and was fulfilled through Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection.

To reject this love is to reject life; to accept Him is to receive eternal life.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS TOPIC

  1. To understand God’s ultimate display of love.

  2. To reveal the necessity of Jesus’ coming.

  3. To show mankind’s helplessness without Christ.

  4. To highlight Jesus as the only path to eternal life.

  5. To explain God’s plan of redemption.

  6. To strengthen the believer’s assurance of salvation.

  7. To draw attention to the value of the soul.

  8. To refocus believers on the person of Jesus.

  9. To awaken gratitude for divine sacrifice.

  10. To inspire deeper fellowship with God through Christ.

CHARACTERISTICS OF GOD’S SENDING OF HIS SON

  1. It was motivated by loveJohn 3:16

  2. It was propheticIsaiah 9:6

  3. It was redemptiveMatthew 1:21

  4. It was sacrificialRomans 8:32

  5. It was purposefulLuke 19:10

  6. It was light-bringingJohn 1:4–5

  7. It was life-givingJohn 10:10

  8. It was truth-revealingJohn 14:6

  9. It was reconciling2 Corinthians 5:18–19

  10. It was eternal in impactHebrews 9:12

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. The Priceless Gift

A wealthy man’s only son became very ill.

He offered everything he had for a cure, but none could save the boy.

A doctor who found a rare antidote gave it freely, refusing payment.

The boy lived.

Lesson:

If humans rejoice over the rescue of one child, how much more should we honour God, who gave His Son freely for the salvation of the world!

2. The Bridge Keeper

A man operating a railway bridge saw a train approaching while his little boy fell on the tracks.

To save the passengers, he let the bridge fall, sacrificing his son.

The people were saved but unaware of his pain.

Lesson:

Many enjoy God’s mercy daily without realizing the price, His only begotten Son.

Gratitude must be intentional.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Beloved, God has already shown how much He values your soul.

Do not waste the sacrifice of Jesus.

If there is sin, compromise, lukewarmness, or distance from God, now is the time to return.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Acknowledge every hidden and open sin.

Ask Him to cleanse your heart and restore your fellowship with Him.

Jesus was sent so you may live, don’t reject His life-giving sacrifice.

IN THIS THE LOVE OF GOD WAS MANIFESTED TOWARD US!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
IN THIS THE LOVE OF GOD WAS MANIFESTED TOWARD US!

KEY VERSE

“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.” - 1 John 4:9 (NKJV)

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

God’s love is not an abstract idea, an emotional feeling, or a poetic expression, it is a divine action.

The greatest revelation of God’s love is not seen in miracles, blessings, or breakthroughs but in the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.

When humanity was trapped in sin, spiritually dead, and unable to save itself, God acted.

He sent His only begotten Son, not because we deserved Him, not because we sought Him, but because love moved Him.

The phrase “that we might live through Him” reveals the core of divine love:

Restoration of Life.

  • Sin stole life; Christ restored it.
  • Sin separated man; Christ reconciled him.
  • Sin condemned man; Christ redeemed him.

God’s love is not passive, it pursues, rescues, restores, and transforms.

This manifested love becomes our foundation for identity, confidence, holiness, forgiveness, and victorious living.

Every believer must continually behold this love, grow in it, and reflect it to the world.

1. The Burning House Rescue

A father sees his child trapped in a burning house.

True love takes the risk, bears the pain, and pays the price for the beloved.

Kidnappers demand an impossible ransom.

Such love is immeasurable and undeserved.

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Charles Wesley (1747)

A perfect hymn celebrating God’s surpassing and transforming love.

1. Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of Heav'n to Earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown;
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.

2. Breathe, O breathe thy loving Spirit
Into ev'ry troubled breast;
Let us all in thee inherit,
Let us find thy promised rest;
Take away our love of sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith as its beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.

3. Come, Almighty to deliver;
Let us all thy grace receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve thee as thy host above,
Pray, and praise thee without ceasing,
Glory in thy perfect love.

4. Finish, then, thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in thee;
Changed from glory into glory
Till in Heav'n we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise!

GOD IS LOVE!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 14th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
GOD IS LOVE!

KEY VERSE

“He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.” – 1 John 4:8

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

The statement God is Love is not merely an attribute describing God; it is His very nature, essence, identity, and operation.

Everything God does flows out of His love, His mercy, His correction, His patience, His forgiveness, His provision, His protection, and even His judgment.

The world often defines love as emotion or attachment, but divine love (agape) is sacrificial, unconditional, eternal, and transformative.

God’s love chose us, redeemed us, preserves us, and perfects us.

He loved us before we knew Him, and even when our actions were offensive, His love pursued us.

To say “God is Love” means:

  • He cannot act outside love.

  • He does not contradict love.

  • He is the origin and standard of perfect love.

This love was fully revealed in Christ, who demonstrated love not just in miracles but in laying down His life for humanity.

When believers understand this, fear melts away, identity becomes secure, and transformation becomes possible.

The believer’s journey is a journey of receiving, reflecting, and radiating the love of God.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF “GOD IS LOVE!”

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. THE BROKEN VESSEL MENDED BY LOVE

A potter found a broken vessel tossed away by others.

Instead of discarding it, he gently picked it up, cleaned it, re-molded it, fired it again, and painted it beautifully.

When asked why, he replied, “Because I saw value even when others saw waste.”

Lesson:

God’s love restores what life has broken

He sees value where men see failure.

2. THE SHEPHERD WHO SEARCHED ALL NIGHT

A shepherd noticed one sheep missing at dusk.

Though he had ninety-nine safe, he left them in the fold, climbed mountains, crossed rivers, and searched tirelessly until he found the lost sheep.

He returned rejoicing.

Lesson:

God’s love pursues the lost relentlessly; no one is too far for His mercy to reach.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Beloved, God’s love calls you not to condemnation but to transformation.

Love warns, corrects, and invites.

If anything in your life has drifted from God’s standard, His love calls you to return.

His arms are open, come back home.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Repentance is not shame; it is surrender to love.

It is acknowledging the wrong path and embracing the right one.

It is allowing God’s love to cleanse, heal, and realign your heart.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Heavenly Father,

I return to Your love.

Forgive me, cleanse me, and restore me.

Remove every barrier between my heart and Your presence.

Help me walk in Your love and reflect it to others.

HE WHO DOES NOT LOVE DOES NOT KNOW GOD!

THE WORDS OF TRUTH DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Feb 13th, 2026

𝕋𝕀𝕋𝕃𝔼:
HE WHO DOES NOT LOVE DOES NOT KNOW GOD!

KEY VERSE

“He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.” – 1 John 4:8

DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Love is the clearest evidence of a truly transformed heart.

Scripture affirms that anyone who fails to walk in love, toward God and toward people, does not truly know God, no matter how religious, active, talented, or prayerful they appear.

To know God is not merely to know about Him; it is to experience Him, to reflect His nature, and to live out His character.

And His character is love.

Love is the very atmosphere of God’s presence and the essence of His dealings with humanity.

From creation to redemption, every act of God flows from love.

When a believer lacks forgiveness, compassion, mercy, patience, or kindness, there is a spiritual disconnect.

God cannot be known outside love because love is His identity.

A Christian who walks in bitterness, hatred, gossip, malice, or cruelty is walking outside the knowledge of God.

This devotional calls you back into alignment, into the lifestyle of love that reveals Christ to the world and transforms your own soul.

Love is not weakness; it is God’s power working through your heart.

Love is not an emotion; it is obedience.

You cannot know God deeply and fail to love sincerely.

And you cannot love sincerely without surrendering fully to God.

BIBLICAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS DEVOTIONAL

  1. To understand that love is God’s essence.

  2. To demonstrate that knowing God produces love in action.

  3. To reveal the danger of loveless Christianity.

  4. To strengthen believers in godly character.

  5. To encourage forgiveness and reconciliation.

  6. To restore believers to an authentic walk with God.

  7. To build the church on unity, compassion, and humility.

  8. To expose the destructive nature of hatred and bitterness.

  9. To cultivate the fruit of the Spirit daily.

  10. To challenge believers to reveal Christ through love.

CHARACTERISTICS OF GODLY LOVE

  1. Love is patient – (1 Corinthians 13:4)

  2. Love is kind – (1 Corinthians 13:4)

  3. Love forgives – (Colossians 3:13)

  4. Love is sacrificial – (John 15:13)

  5. Love seeks peace – (Hebrews 12:14)

  6. Love shows mercy – (Luke 6:36)

  7. Love speaks truth – (Ephesians 4:15)

  8. Love is humble – (Philippians 2:3)

  9. Love serves others – (Galatians 5:13)

  10. Love covers offenses – (1 Peter 4:8)

ILLUSTRATIONS

1. THE BROKEN BRIDGE

Two brothers lived on opposite sides of a river.

After a disagreement, they built a fence to keep each other away.

One day, a carpenter passed by and offered to help.

The older brother asked him to extend the fence; instead, the carpenter built a bridge linking both sides.

When the younger brother saw it, he crossed over with tears, apologizing.

The carpenter smiled and said,

“My job is to build bridges, not fences.”

LESSON:

Love repairs, reconnects, restores, and reconciles.

Hatred builds fences; love builds bridges.

2. THE EMPTY CHURCH

A pastor had a church full of gifted members, prayer warriors, singers, and teachers, but division and envy filled the congregation.

One night, he dreamt that Jesus came to the church.

The Lord said,

“I see your gifts, but I do not see Myself here, because I am love.”

When he woke up, the pastor wept and led the church in repentance.

Within months, miracles, unity, and souls returned.

LESSON:

Spiritual gifts without love produce noise, not impact.

God dwells where love reigns.

CALL TO REPENTANCE

Return from the path of bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, rivalry, and pride.

If love has died in your heart, you are far from God.

Today, come back to Him.

Let Christ soften what life has hardened.

DEEP REPENTANCE

Confess honestly before God:

  • Where you have hated

  • Where you have judged

  • Where you refused to forgive

  • Where you spoke harshly

  • Where you held grudges

  • Where you failed to show mercy

Ask Him to cleanse you and restore the nature of Christ within you.

PRAYER OF REPENTANCE

Father,

I come before You acknowledging my lack of love.

Forgive me for every bitterness, anger, malice, and unforgiveness.

Wash my heart, purify my spirit, and fill me with Your love.

Let the Holy Spirit produce in me a heart that reflects Jesus.

I receive Your mercy.

Transform me completely.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

HYMN

Love Divine, All Loves Excelling
Charles Wesley (1747)

A hymn celebrating God’s perfect love working in us.

1. Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of Heav'n to Earth come down,
Fix in us thy humble dwelling,
All thy faithful mercies crown;
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.

2. Breathe, O breathe thy loving Spirit
Into ev'ry troubled breast;
Let us all in thee inherit,
Let us find thy promised rest;
Take away our love of sinning;
Alpha and Omega be;
End of faith as its beginning,
Set our hearts at liberty.

3. Come, Almighty to deliver;
Let us all thy grace receive;
Suddenly return, and never,
Never more thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve thee as thy host above,
Pray, and praise thee without ceasing,
Glory in thy perfect love.

4. Finish, then, thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be;
Let us see thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in thee;
Changed from glory into glory
Till in Heav'n we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise!
